Looks like a great day. When I saw the weather I was sooo close to driving from Weston-super-Mare just for the fun of it but decided to be a good boy and go and see my Mum instead. She is 86 after all
I'm so glad this man is advising me on my wheel/tyre/offset set up..........
I know we told him he needs spacers and lowering, but that's just rediculous
-
As for the exhaust note, it's definetely quiter in the cabin than my 350 but not quite as bad as I thought it would be. I think I'll casually keep an eye out for a new system
Like casually every day. Quiter than the 350 means it must sound like my Mum's sewing machine.
Get it sorted.

So no Blueflame owners at all with the unsilenced version..............
Methinks I'll have to be first then.
As I said above "prometheus" has the new version. Try PMing him or adding a post to the thread I mentioned above.
Thanks MattG.
Couldn't wait and ordered it anyway. So that's new brakes, new rims, new rubber, new exhaust, new air filter, new grille in the last 2 weeks...................
Good job I haven't got a social life.

Prometheus
Where's that update with pics/video?

You should have recieved spiggot rings with your wheels.
See 4 posts up. Got the spigot rings but the nuts are rubbish so need quality replacements. Just don't like the idea of spending £80 + for them.
-
I think ZMANALEX can get cool wheel nuts too!
Seems like "cool" nuts (16 normal and 4 locking) cost £80 - £90 for slimline aluminium gunmetal/black.
Anybody got or seen some that don't cost £4 each.
-
youd think the car that filmed it coulda pulled in front of the lorry and slowed it down
I haven't been in a Physics classroom for 31 years but that is a really bad idea. Ask Sir Isaac Newton (1642 - 1727):
Three Laws of Motion
Newton's First Law of Motion states that in order for the motion of an object (Clio) to change, a force must act upon it (camera car), a concept generally called inertia. (or crashing)
Newton's Second Law of Motion defines the relationship between acceleration, force, and mass. (A bloody great crash)
Newton's Third Law of Motion states that any time a force acts from one object to another, there is an equal force acting back on the original object. (Hello God)

Imagine being the driver of that Clio and being pinned to the radiator going 70 MPH sideways. I bet she was thinking

From the outside, yes.

On the inside, it was a similar noise to me putting my head in Steve Harris's bass bin at a 1981 Iron Maiden gig when I was 17.
Never been the same since......................

Panic over.
Seems it would have been a good idea to open all 4 boxes and then look for spigots/nuts before posting.
However, the nuts are "shi*e and will rust" (words of the company selling the rims) so now I need to source some nice gunmetal or black locking replacements.

Just gone for a test fit as the rims are in but waiting for the rubber.
Of course it's not simple!
The JDM nuts will are too big so I need 20 slimline gunmetal nuts. Secondly, the wheels do not sit flush on the hub (centre hole several mm larger than hub) so all the weight of the wheel will only be supported by the bolts so I need "spigot rings" according to the fitter - which he doesn't have. Are these the same as spacers?? Surely the last thing I need is spacers with an offset of ET12?
All suggestions welcome.
-
I brought a set from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20-x-Black-Alloy-Wheel-Tuner-Nuts-NISSAN-SUZUKI-SUBARU_W0QQitemZ250569778042QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET?hash=item3a571f637a
They come with tool to tighten them up.......however no locking nut......but then again i dont need them because i cant see anyone wanting to steal my wheels
Looks like someone has already stolen your wheels and she's smuggled a set of wheel nuts up her jumper
-
I've just bought a set of 18" Rota Torque Drifts to replace my 17" JDMs. The car will look like this in 48 hours:
Having never bought rims before, I'm assuming the standard bolts/nuts will work but I guess an upgrade in looks and security would be welcome. (I street park)
Any suggestions?

Up early??
Must be posting my rubber........

I was but got my head turned by the cat-back Blueflame.
Have you checked out their site and videos?
http://www.blueflameperformance.com/pra ... 0&pageid=3
I think the look/sound/power gains/price combo is excellent.
Any opinions would be welcome.

Has anybody got a decent quality clip of the sound of the Blueflame? Their own clips on their website are atrocious and the YouTube selction not much better.
A nice close-up still of the end pipe would be good as well.
Also, there seem to be a variety of sources. Simply - where's cheapest??
