  1. Hi and welcome to the forum

Greekman on here is in your part of the world with a Night Blue roadster. Probably holds the record for tyre and brake wear as he loves to track his ZED, well once he fell off it (at Brands) but I'll let him explain that ;)

I got 3k out of my pads (including two trackdays) What's Greekman's record?

  2. Welcome to the forum!

Have a look at the recent thread about Bedford autodrome, it's the perfect track for the beginner, I put a few pics up the other day. They also do driver instruction there so you'll get the best out of your Zed in no time.

As for the ipod - if it's Bose unit in your Zed then your knackered. I tried and tried, there's loads of posts on here. I thought I'd beaten everyone when the Car Audio Centre in Brum promised a solution, took my money - then let me down!

Cheapest option is a Griffin iTrip, you'll get it for about £30 from Amazon and you can tune it into a preset radio station. Nt crystal clear audio, but probably the best you'll get without ripping the Bose out.

  3. Man...lots of angry people here.

Always remember that every action has a reaction, even if the action is the reaction to an action.

Sounds like a quote from the Matrix...

    I know Kung Fu...

Kung Fu? Don't know him - does he have a Zed?

  4. Looks like a great day at the track, fantastic pics. You're co-pilot looks a little distracted though.

He was gutted as he didn't have his MR2 Turbo fixed in time and had to give his place away! I wouldn't have fancied being a passenger all day. I did offer a go in mine but he didn't want to risk anything.

Seriously angry people, the last thing you want is a neighbourhood dispute that goes on and on, with ever increasing levels of damage / maliciousness.

  6. Chuffing awful that, stick a note through everyones door asking the person to come forward and pay for damage.... if they don't flay the git...

If you want sheer school-boy style revenge, how about dog poo inside the door handle?

Better than that smeer it in the ventilation intakes for cabin ventilation. Everytime they turn the heating on it'll smell like the preverbiable.... or fish paste...

Take em ages to get shot of the smell.

You sound very well versed in this - not speaking from experience are you....?

  7. Yup, the admins have been filddling ;)

:p and ;) are still not displaying correctly for me  ..........not complaining just commenting

They work fine for me at home, work and iPhone. Must be a browser thing your end ;)

Yep it is FF  ........ Safari :)

Fine for me with FF at work  My guess is your FF images are corrupt, a Ctrl-F5 should sort it, if not clear the cache and try again. If that dont do it, then you're FF is cursed

:p and ;) are random on mine too, gotta be a FF thing.

  8. how did the brembos fare on track?

They were absolutley spot on this time

On my first day at Bedford, I was suffered monumental brake fade, towards the end of the morning session I careered through a corner with naff all braking power, it was like my brakes had been cut off. :scare:

After some advice from the guys on here I paid a visit to Mitz @ CS, he fitted new lines, some DS2500 pads and 5.1 fluid. They transformed the braking, hardly noticeable on the road but on the track it was something else. I'm now able to brake much later, which was the only way to beat the Z4Ms and Elises. There were cars there that had considerable amounts spent on the brakes and the couldn't come close to the Brembos with a modest upgrade. Made me feel very lucky to be able to own such a car and enjoy it on a track.

    :drive1

By the end of the session there was hardly any sign of fade. The pads just lasted their second session yesterday (with a couple of thou road miles on them too) and will be replaced like for like next week.

Are you thinking of having a go?

  9. wac - get a full set of Falkens and put the fronts on eBay as part worns, someone will have them off you and it'll make a contribution to the cost of the tyres. Or a few beers :drunk:

  10. After a bit of help guys - my oil pressure seems a bit erratic - where should it be on the scale?

I took this yesterday at Bedford. It stays at this level at idle but picks up to just after half way when I'm driving it.

I've let the engine cool and the oil level is smack in the middle of the dipstick (cleaned and checked again).

    Any guidance greatfully received!

  11. John, was Matt the passenger…

Mitz - yes he was, he was supposed to be coming the MR2 Turbo, but he still hasn't got it fixed after he blew the 120amp fuse. It's currently somewhere in Willenhall - we're having a sweepstake at work whether he'll ever see it again

Looks good - definitely should have a 350z-uk day there

Ebized - it would be great, there were 8-10 Clios there, countless Porsches & BMWs, can you & the mods add some weight to the next proposed meet there? As Chris rightly points out, it's a great track for all, so many run off areas and no armco to hit if you do spin off.

Here's the first YouTube vid I found showing the layout/openness of the circuit. You'll be able to hit about 130mp/h on the long straight (about 1.50 in)
