  1. Just been speaking to a colleague who said his insurance company asked him at his renewal if he had been on any speed awareness courses. He told them he had and this resulted in a big increase in his premium. I didn't think they could do this? Has this happened to anyone on here? My renewal is due soon and I thought taking the course kept me from an increase in premium.

    Cheers

  2. Mine failed twice. What seems to happen is the non return valve fails then the pump burns out pumping against the blockage. Second time they failed CS fitted a generic pump, much cheaper and does the same job.

  3. Z now gone so no need for these. Not valuable enough to be worth selling but thought they could help out someone on here so giving them away for free.

  4. Worst mod - alloy gators. They might be ok on rays but on the rotas they have a habit of flying off at high speed! Also kinda hard to remove them without damaging the wheels

Second worst mod - Rota GTRs - look great but 2 had to be replaced due to cracks and they are soo easy to kerb, also don't do anything for the handling.

  5. Going rate for an SE 320D from 05 is about 7k. 8200-8400 for an M Sport. Tops. 9k is too much. Trade in value for that car is only 6k.

I just sold my highly modified 320d for 9k. It was listed for 8300 private sale but someone went for the bits and pieces bolted on too.

If you have any specific questions let me know.

I went to look at the eBay one today. Very clean, m-sport and low miles but yeah, 9k for a 55 plate 320d :headhurt: If I can get him down to 8k or less I might go for it, few more to look at tomorrow. Thanks for all the help. Do you think there's much difference between the 166 and 177 bhp versions?

    Cheers

  6. Sorry for the confusion...there is 2 separate cars I'm talking about here. One is private sale and has the issue with finance outstanding, the other a dealer who looks to deal almost exclusively in commercial vehicles but has a 3 series for sale.

  7. Thanks for the help guys. I will check with him the details of the finance and let you know.

In the meantime, just spotted this one for sale:

Its the newer 177bhp engine with efficient dynamics. Higher mileage and no m-sport kit but a bit cheaper. Main thing putting me off this one is the seller seems to only sell vans and commercial vehicles? Not sure why they would be selling this car.

  8. Looking at cars to replace the Z, spotted this one:

Called the guy who said there is finance owing on the car. He offered me 2 options, either he pays the finance as soon as its sold or I pay it off myself and the cost deduced from the buying price. This all sounded a bit sketchy and i'm a complete newb to car buying, should this be something to steer clear of?

Also, I asked his best price and he said "ideally not less than 8.5k", i'm thinking this means he would probably let it go for like 8-8.2k?

    Any help appreciated!

  9. Looks like apple have everyone fooled. Yes their thousand quid laptops are better bits of kit than a £350 acer, but a simiar priced PC will blow the macbook out of the water. People who buy the macbook then run windows do it 95% for the "look" IMO. If you want an astonishingly quick laptop get one with a fast SSD HDD. Because there is no seek time, your apps load up suuuuper quick.

  10. Unbelievable. Third one!

    Hi,

Thanks for the prompt response.. I am ready to buy it now as a

birthday gift for my brother in-law. I am at sea at the moment as I am

a marine engineer and due to the nature of my work, phone call making

and visiting of website are restricted but I just have to squeezed out

time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. I really

want the car to be a surprise package for brother in-law so I wont let

him know anything about the car until it gets delivered to him, I am

sure he will be more than happy with the car. I insisted on PayPal as

my mode of payment because I don't have access to my bank account

online and also, I don't have internet banking, but I can pay from my

PayPal account. I have my bank account attached to my PayPal account,

so I will need you to give me your PayPal email address and your final

price so I can make the payments asap for the car and please if you

don't have a PayPal account yet, it is very easy to set up, go to

www.paypal.com and get it set up, after you have set it up I will only

need the e-mail address you use for the registration with PayPal so as

to put the money through. I have a pick up agent that will come and

pick the car up after I have made the payments for the car.

    My Regards.
