  1. Thanks all! I know the GTs will be favoured by most, but I really want to try and get into a 313 BHP model and the cool bonnet hump... Cheers Sime
  2. Sorry Stan.... I was rushing.. Thank you for all your comments. very much appreciated! Cheers Sime
  3. It is nice.. but rather expensive......
  4. Thanks Dan I assume it must be OK, but as you say (and I have just started a new thread on the whole GT/non GT aspect), everyone goes GT for the resale and the fact the parts are worth having (Leather, elec seat and BOSE.. Cruise is not worth the button in the UK) Br Simon
  5. Forgive the density but what is iirc?? Education on a Friday evening :-)
  6. Hi GT cars with Rays seem to be the defacto standard in the market and a few non GTs skulk in the dealers with lower prices.. The features of GT are slightly questionable.. I have found a good price final MY 313 BHP 57 plate Zed for better money as a non GT... I would like the top engine and love the fat bonnet.... Will I have less chance of selling it in the future than Gordon Brown winning the General Election??? Cheers Sime
  7. Hi, I know most of you reading the ICE mods page will have decided this is the case. The description of it in a review sounds pretty nifty.. I have found a last model year 313 bhp Zed, but non GT... As most would not touch this second hand because all people seem to want full GT spec and Rays then I am wondering just how 'good' or bad is the Bose that comes as part of the GT pack..... I had BOSE in my Audi A3 once and it was pretty good (ie better than standard stereo's, and good enough for the odd CD, a decent track on Radio1 and the odd Radio 4 session).. See description below from a review of the 350z: 240-watt premium Bose six-CD audio system — tailored specifically for the 350Z — with a 10-inch woofer mounted right behind the driver. The ultra-slim woofer is just one of seven speakers to be found in the 350Z's cabin. There are 1.5-inch tweeters in each A-pillar; 6.5-inch speakers in each door; and two 6.5-inch speakers mounted in the rear for extra depth. A six-channel digital amplifier is also mounted in the rear, providing customised equalisation and signal processing to each individual speaker for clear, more natural sounding music. Cheers Sime
  8. Hi! I am really into the styling of the new bonnet on the last of the 350z model line (57 plate onwards).. The bulge to cover the new engine and intakes. See below: Anyone know if this bonnet would be a direct fit on the 2006 facelift?? Br Sime
  9. Is your car unmodified? If so, mileage and age accounting, it seems you have the full beans with a standard engine and the older models have lost some horses along the way... Impressive if so.. (from a person with no experience of performance drop-off with age) Cheers Sime
  10. So it seems that most have not been able to make the stealth install deliver that well? Even the US guys?? I can see that a larger enclosure under the strut brace is going to be better, but space is space ! I am sure a cheeky 8 or poss 10 with some quality amplification is going to work 1 ft away from you..? Cheers Sime
  11. If going for a sealed design as the most typical, then given the tight space, does this need to be a very special glass fibre creation or can it be made from mdf etc?? I saw some comments on getting the face angle of the sub right etc. Also comments that someone makes a glassfibre enclosure? I would have thought this would be the best compromise, rather than the infinite baffle design Cheers Simon
  12. Does not sound like very many... What is the difference with the dealers then?? Surely they could shift 10% of the cayman sales in the UK.... hmm
  13. Well I was wondering if a few would be trading their 350s for 370s and hence there would be some to look at... Not neccesarily cheaper, just more Thanks for all your comments Br Sime
  14. Thanks! I was thinking more along the lines of UK cars arriving and some 350z being free'd-up etc, but I assume imports would also have the same effect... Cheers PS - Your 3 days to more power does not seem to have come for the last month or so :-)) Sime
  15. Hi The main thrust was where is the second hand sweetspot in terms of best model and price.. Is the 06 MY that much better (considering the extensive mods) Is the 07 MY worth the hit likely in depreciation (latest engine and revised intake) Etc Thanks for comments on Warranty... Does not sound that bullet proof then... Beemer and M5 one was pretty silver plated.. Had new ECU, Dash pod etc etc all FOC.. Cheers Sime
  16. I have been hunting for a decent late 06/56 MY car for a while and missed the odd bargain. Gun Metal, Blue or Black Coupe Black leather interior Sat Nav a bonus Must be UK car GT Spec with Rays Light mods even better (filter/exhaust etc) Full dealer service history Sub 50k miles Immaculate or better :-) Dealer Approved cars are around 15-16k, so this would be the max. Possible P/X of sensible Diesel car if of interest (but far from essential) Come on chaps.. where are the good cars lurking (other than on your drive!) Anyone needing to move a 07 MY 313 car then also interested. Cheers Sime
  17. Hi there, Does anyone know when the deliveries will ramp-up on the 370z? Seems around Sep for those just placed an order. I wondered if earlier cars would be coming through (other than the dealer demo's) ??? Cheers Sime
  18. Hi All, I have been on the hunt for a Zed for some weeks now and things have gone a little quiet... Started me thinking.. I have really convinced myself I need an 06 MY (and all the tweaks inc engine, steering, interior etc). I really like the look of the 07MY (57 plate onwards) with the latest engine and the bonnet hump.. However, the original model on a 53 etc plate is a good few K less. I am not going to be much of a modder (stereo/exhaust/filter) and need to be relatively conservative So... looking at the typical prices etc below, where is the swetspot?? 2006MY?? Assuming all are GT pack and Rays alloys, UK Cars Late 2007 (57/08 plate) - Last MY (313) - Circa 17-18k Late 2006 (56/07 plate) - Revised bits (300) - Circa 15-16k Around 2003 (03/53 plate) model - Original model - Circa 11-12k The latest 313 model is still going to depreciate a nasty amount with the impending 370z.. What about a Nissan approved with warranty (is this a good warranty??). I had a BMW Approved M5 and it was a nicely solid any little thing get it in and fixed.... I realise many of the people in this forum have imports or pre '06 models. I also know the GT4 Limited Edition represents something of a middle option... Cheers Sime
  19. Hi Guys, I have not yet bought a zed, but looking for the right model. I commute alot and have heard the tyre noise can be quite intrusive with the rear hatch design. Is it quieter with the luggage 'plate' thing in place ? In terms of tyres on Rays (as larger rims and lower profile rubber all = more road noise), I usually prefer Michelin PS2 sports or ContiSport Contact3. I know/think the OE is Bridgestone? I would assume the Rays alloys in the GT pack are pretty good Light and strong being forged. I actually really like the GT4 alloys (also forged Rays).. Comments welcome Cheers Sime

  21. Hi Guys Anyone going to be in Reading? As a total new guy I was hoping to say a quick hello enroute home and check-out some of the mods you guys love making... Cheers Simon
  22. Just a quick response to all of you that have sent a welcome.. Certainly the most friendly forum I have ever joined!
  23. Thanks and what a superb pair of cars... I know another chap that went from a Griff to a 350z and has been pleasantly surprised (mainly by all the bits that work). Personally, I love the Griff burble over the AJP V8s. Cheers Simon
  24. So how about a nice little 8" in a sealed enclosure? Surely this could be made to work. A 10 is a nice to have, but then its all about spl and natural ability to drop. A well made 8 should be more than enough for audiophile use with a good source of current to get the excursion.... Just a thought Cheers Simon Or glass fibre enclosures
  25. I might be able to make that... Slightly normal looking chap in Grey Volvo S60 is not undercover rozzers, but me :-) Might see some of you tomorrow then.. Cheers Simon
