    My father owned a Droopsnoot. If he hadn't had the roll cage in it, I wouldn't be typing this now! I love listening to his stories about that beast! Apparently only 250 made before Vauxhall stopped making them because they were dangerously fast...which my father proved by rolling it 3 times :scare:

  2. Just thought I would share possibly one of the best accessories I have found for iPad/iPhone. It's a 500GB seagate wifi hard drive. Basically, it pumps out a wifi signal, you connect to it and you can watch movies, listen to music, view photos ect off it. So I now have a 532GB iPad! It's also battery powered and lasts for 5 hours :thumbs:

  3. I've been using mobile me for nearly two years and it's been absolutely fine. Apple have a pretty good security record so I'm sure this will be no different.

    Well after a quick blast last night and a good old poke around today, I can honestly say that iSO5 is bloody lovely!! I think the iPad has had the best overhaul! Tabbed browsing (shameful to say) is most welcome, switching between apps is awesome, pinch to home screen is a nice touch and the notification center is really good. Early days and I'm sure there's more to discover but first impressions are good! :thumbs:

  4. Apple need to sort their servers out.....

    Updating to IOS5 has been throwing up massive errors at the point where it connects to Apple due to overloading.

    I had to do a full factory reset and restore on my iphone after the update failed :dry: Took 2 hours. :thumbdown:

    I'm going through the same sh!t!! except, i am only half way through my ipad update.....still have my iphone to do!! :surrender:

  5. Dont know the achitecture of the ipad/iphone massively well, but I'm sure the graphics processing will be done on a dedicated chip rather than the A5 processor? In theory you are right, they could make it all more powerful - but that will drain the battery quicker and produce more heat which would have to be managed. At over full HD res, you'd have to ask why. I think they will aim for full 1080 HD res next so they can support movies. It wasnt long ago that PCs struggled to handle that res :lol:

    Its interesting you should say that because I was having a discussion yesterday with my brother about the "GPU" in the iPhone 4s. He said that it has to use a GPU but after quite a bit of searching, it looks like it hasn't and it uses the A5 for all the work! If anyone can shed light on this, I would be very grateful! :lol:

  6. What improvements can they make over the iPad 2? Can only be an upgrade in processor or a better camera, and would the these out way the price of a 3... if and when it comes out :shrug:

    The only thing i can see being improved is the rentiner display on the 3.

    I would seriously recommend (if you can) buy a 3G model and then get a rolling contract. I have a 3 sim and fair play, it's awesome. Almost always have 3G and for £15 a month, I get 10gb of data! :thumbs:

    I imagine that some kind of retina display will be next up. The problem with that is it would make it well over full HD resolution (if you scaled the iphone screen to size) which would make the processing power required rather large and also overkill. I would think something close to a full HD resolution will be next though.

    But can't you get (jailbroken) software that allows you to view an iPhone app at x2 without any pixillation? Surly if they upgraded the processor to say....(theoretically speaking) to quad core, it would run an iPad sized retina?

    *edit* Oh and apparently apple bought 200-300 glass machines to make curved glass (to minimise glare) so maybe a slight design change?

  8. I must have missed where someone equated his life to that of hundreds of soldiers in Afghanistan :surrender:

    Maybe we could compare driving around in a 3.5l V6 here with those who are starving in Afghanistan?

    +1

    Guys, I'm an ex serviceman, spent nearly 3 years in Iraq so I can relate. What is happening in afganistan and what happened on 9/11 is unreal and sh1t. Doesn't mean that nothing else matters. We are aloud to be sad about someone's death. You can't compare Jobs to Winehouse or Jackson. Jobs done a little bit more for this planet that those two freaks.

  9. The man was/is a legend! I am genuinely gutted about his passing away. His products have been in my life for the past 6 years and I have nothing but praise for them. I'm typing this on my iPad, I work on my iMac (previously a MacBook pro) and I use my iPhone to communicate and listen to my music. I choose these products over others because (in the words of Steve Jobs) "it just works" and they do.....very very well!

    You will be missed.

  10. :lol: Chris - I haven't got a scooby when it comes to photography... I point and shoot at things I like the look of - take loads of the same thing and eventually something semi-decent comes out :lol:

    What's the 2/3 rule?

    :lol::lol:

    The 2/3 rule is a very basic one. If you split a photo into 2/3, say a beach scene for example, the sky should take up 2/3 or the sand should take up 2/3 of the photo. You should have a setting on your camera that puts up a grid. That's for this rule. Give it a go next time you get a nice sunset :thumbs:

  11. Its no secret that I'm a fan of apple :lol: but i have to say, that does look good, slick and the two apps on the same screen will go down well!! However! They designed the split keyboard?? Ahhh im sure thats in iSO5! :shrug:

    Let the battle commence! (Its about time too! :lol: )

  12. My Nephew srgt Karl Ley Has just returned back out there and they have promised his wife that they will keep him on base as too dangerous for him to go front line after Winning the George medal and the T.V. Award for most outstanding soldier they reckon that the taliban will be gunning for him for defusing too many IED's,

    And by the way love your Dog, hes the same breed as the SEAL'S used isnt he?

    yeah, hes the same breed.. just a smaller :p

    we use larger ones for protection work aswel :thumbs:

    Well a big thank you to All for what you are doing mate, keep your head down and stay safe :thumbs:

    I worked with EOD in Northern Ireland a few years back and it was unreal! You guys deserve a little more than a badge!!!

  13. Hi mate what count is on the camera body ie how many shutter actions performed cheers Carl

    Just got home and used a bit of software to get the number. The shutter count is at 4726. Its very very low considering the 40D is good for 100,000 snaps :thumbs:

  14. With the 16mm on it's meant to be reasonably pocket sized. With the 18-55 I'll have no chance although if I put it down the front of my jeans though it might get the ladies interested..... :lol::lol:

    :lol::lol::lol:

    "ladies, would you like to see my "lens"?" :lol:

    *unpacks 70-300mm* :lol:

    :lol::lol:

    "Look, it....extends....if you twist it!" :lol::ban: ?
