Hey people
I thought i would share this with you guys and gals, Even though i dont own a 350z i still think there gorgeous cars and my girlfriend is hoping to get one in 6 months or so so that means i get to play in both
lol
Anyway my car has been going through this bodywork stage for a year and a half. Cut a long story short, a mate of mine who owns a body shop and was meant to do my car but let me down BIG time. It was in there for a year and he only put on and half blended the rear bumper AAAHHHHHHHHHGGGGG
Anyways thats in the past now
My car is now in Xquisite in Croydon and its coming out in just over a week. I CANT WAIT !
Before i post up all the stages this car has gone through, i just wanted to tell you guys and gals on how GREAT Xquisite have been.
Really friendly people, Always keeping me informed on the progress on my car with loads of pics emailed to me most days.
The quailty of work they do unbelievable ! I will always highly recommend these guys to anyone

the reason there was a line was because i only sprayed over the scratches, didnt want to blend into good paint when the colour was way off, went back today and the woman said that they had made a mistake so she mixed up some wv2 (didnt have a WV2 G) and it looked very similar but due to fadeing i asked her to lighten it up,eventualy to a colour i thought was correct. When she went to fill up a can they had ran out :/ so she gave me it as a free touch up pen to test and said come back tues for a can and to say if the colour is right.
Just tested the pen and it looks pritty good, going to sand down the test area 2moz to see how easy it is to blend.
As for saying why would anyone try this themselfs, my question to you is why did man go to the moon? If you dont try things you will never better yourself, and will always think what if? Mabe i do make a hash of it at least i will know the £190 pro job is worth all that money, since ive only got a part time job due to the economic climate im happy ive got a car at all.
Well it depends what type of job you wanted to do in the first place. If you said you had a few scratches on your car and attemped to spray it your self until you can get it sorted by a bodyshop i would of understood. Everyone on here love and cherish there cars so when a few of us saw that we were a little shocked thats all. Good luck in getting sorted though
-
I agree with AlexZ
Even with the correct paint, the colour would be out. but not only that, the painting skills look a tad weak. did you even blend the colour into the original paint? looks like you would just have a harsh straight edge to me.
The 350z is not a cheap car, i expect this sort of repair on a ford escort not a 350z.
Just get it to a bodyshop and fixed properly. otherwise you'd lose out later on when you sell the car as no one will want to buy a bodged 350z
lol thats what i was going to say but as im new to this forum i thought i would keep quiet lol.
Why would you spend 10k on a car then going to Halfords, buy a 6.99 can of paint and do some spraying in your front garden lol
-
I would go for the Supra TT mate
It maybe biased me being a Supra TT owner.
Depends how much money you want to spend.
For a good TT6 with 50k your looking at 10k. There 330bhp, 0-60 in 5 seconds standerd but with just 2k spent on it, going up to 1.2 bar of boost puts it up to 400 -420bhp. Any more power you want to go single Turbo which will put you in the 600bhp and up range. To go single though your looking a min 10k upwards depending on what type of kit you want. If your can push your budget to 13k there are some single supras about which will save you a few pennys.
Its one of the best handling cars i have driven,
-
Damn, I would never go to Halfrauds for mixed paint anyway, they are not specialists. Hope you manage to sort it mate.
Exactly !
They cant even get wipers right, feel sorry for you mate but i dont know how you thought the colour was close when you tested it on some paper as that is way off !
Its needs to go into a bodyshop to have it done right.
Dont Nissan do spray cans ??? sorry im a Supra owner so i wont know, my girlfriend getting a 350 soon so its handy to know
-
Looks much better fit then the K1, you going to post a sound clip of the exhaust ???
-
Took it out for a little spin! I love it
I'm interested to know how most people broke the car in. I took it quite easy tonight, it still has just shy of 60 miles on it and I didn't take it above 3.5 - 4k. Still you can have fun in that rev range but I'm itching to open it up!
Very nice mate, i would drive is sensibly fro about 200 miles, but it most likely been red lined at the dealer on PDA test drive, i have worked for 3 dealers and the Tecs are all the same
-
I don;t understand bodyshops. surely a car only needs to be there for maximum of a week to have work done.
Why do they need cars to be sitting around for months on end???
I don't have much experience of them but this doesn't make any sense to me.
Why house all these cars instead of having them come in for a day or two when the works carried out??
Tell me about it!, i have had 15 month of hell, its getting sorted now by Xquisite

Hi People,
I was not sure whether to write this but then i would not want this to happen to anyone else on this forum, My car is not a 350z but my girlfriend's getting one soon and i would hate for this to happen to anyone else
January last year i damaged my Do-Luck bumper, instead of just getting just the bumper replaced i decided that i would take the plunge and completely redo the look of the Supra like bumpers, spoiler, bonnet, mirrors, side skirts, colour change etc etc.
I decided to use a body shop called Hughes Coachworks in Molesey. I work for a Jaguar dealership and we regularly send work his way, so i have seen his work quality which seemed very good
So, i had a word with him on what work i wanted to be carried out on the car in which he was really enthusiastic in doing. So to save money i stripped as much as i could like bumpers, lights, OEM side skirts, interior etc etc and March last year i drove the car to the body shop. The plan was for to have it ready for the summer for the shows etc.
April came, and went into May and nothing was done to the car. So i sent a few emails asking the progress of the car which they replied, were starting it next week so we will send some pics.
I thought great so i was all excited in getting my car back
June came and went and then we got into July and still no work done. So after endless emails back and forth they told me they said there having a meeting to plan who's working on the car.
Aug came and im now getting really pis*** off as nothing was done to the car still, then out of the blue i got theses pics
When i saw these pics, even though i have been let down by dates this got me excited again so i left them to it for a few weeks.
Sept came and nothing again, so i starting going down there to talk to him face to face. He told me with an attitude that the car was a winter project really. So i bit my tongue and crossed out the rest of the year for my Supra.
Jan came and what a surprise, nothing done so i said im pulling the car, they got a bit funny and wanted to charge me 1k but after lots of email and talks they convinced me to leave it there so they can get it ready for June.
Feb/March/April came went and still no different, Getting really rally angry now, I had it out with him face to face and he apologies which ment nothing to me but promised he would do it for the summer so i said fine..
while waiting through the months i got my bonnet vents done by Xquisite which i was really really impressed, and wished i took it to them first..oh well
Hope your not bored yet lol
June came, still nothing so Tuesday last week i said i'm pulling the car and he told me i think that's a good idea ! WHAT!!! why did he not say this 6 months ago. He said there will be a bill to pay and i said fine, i'm picking it up sat
They emailed me a bill for £1130 or £950 cash which i was really angry about so i mailed them saying i don't agree the bill, can you give me a breakdown of the bill, Due to the fact you did not finish the job and the time it has been in there.
So they did
the new bill came to £1355 + vat
What the F***
SO i got as much legal advise possible calling everyone and everyone. After 4 days of sleepless nights and not eating i decided i really just want this out of the way now and pay the cash and be done with it as i'm exhausted dealing with this Pri**
So i just emailed mailed them saying i'm paying cash please have everything ready for Sat
So today i picked up the car and the guy said "all right mate"
ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! NO I'M NOT FUC**** ALL RIGHT so he then he disappeared and i delt with his painter who i get on with and he also thinks he is a assh***
It sitting i'm my garage now and Xquisite are doing it in July
I feel so relaxed now not having to deal with him again
here what it looks like now from 15 months in the body shop
I thought i better put my experience on here with Hughes Coachworks so no one on this club goes though the same crap i had too
sorry for the long read lol
-
Please note this is the Fairmile Pub in COBHAM not Chobham
We can't make it tho, hopefully next time
lol sorry typing too quick as at work and should be doing other things lol
-
Anyone going down to the mini-meet/BBQ on Sat? Might need to phone the pub for details (we're going with Michael's Supra club - although car's still not ready lol) other cars attending are Ferrari / Porsche / TVR / GT.40 / Corvette / Impreza, be good to put a few faces to names

.....4times before it died.
robust........!!
My cat managed to kill itself when it fell off my washing machine.......
Its actually widely known that if a cat "falls" from between the 5th and 7th storey it could survive with very little injury which is why it took so long for the poor thing to die, any less and it wouldn't have time to correct itself to be able to land properly and any more it would drop like a stone
I hate reading stuff like this as I have rescued animals and dread to thnk what their lives were like before

Truly shocking story, although worryingly as a former horse owner I have seen and heard about many road accidents involving horses and wreckless drivers. I had been known to hit a car with my whip if one drove to close for comfort when I rode on road, I had one person get out of the car once and I asked if they would prefer a whip hitting their car or my horse, after a few expletives she got back in her car and sped off, luckily my horse was sensible and didn't batter an eye lid but could have been a completely different story, have also seen some nasties
My ex used to complain and say they didn't belong on the roads if we ever came across one (especially if there were two side by side, which is legal as you're allowed to drive the width of a car) but I just used to tell him that he was a moron and at the end of the day horses were using roads long before cars were!!
I totally feel for you and your wife for such a horrific accident and loss but I'm sure with a lot of support she will feel much better, although understandably will never forget, I hope she has the courage to continue to ride and not let these people win.
Well done to the farmer to for helping the horse, a lot of people wouldn't have been able to do it, although unfortunately with horses it is the only way

Hey Guys n Gals,
How about Either July 26th OR August 2nd!!??
Non-350Z attendees welcome, so long as there is NO reckless driving, wheelspinning, Revving, etc , and that you are looking to buy a Zed soon
Jerry
Can do both, August Supra should definitely be back, he'll be on his best behaviour I promise, its his baby as I'm sure your zeds are yours (and mine will be!!)
Thanks for letting us come along is much appreciated, but will probably be asking the world's stupidest questions lol
-
After having a nice meal out me and the missis thought we would find a Nissan dealer to see if they have any 350z we could have a closer look at.
Found a black one which was gorgeous, were both excited getting one now lol. Silly Qst Just want to confirm in the boot, the large bar with 350z in silver. Im guessing its just a fancy big rear strut bar...
Yes bud. Have you a link to the one you saw.
Cheers mate, thought it was, No i dont, i think it was just having a service and it so we had a quick lookie round it

I don't have a zed yet, but would love to come along as its only down the road from me, be good to see some up close and meet some of you
Vicki (Michael's better half lol)
that would be good, more than welcome to come
I presume the Supra will be welcome (if she's ready by then) as I have no zed yet (Supra is Michael's not mine lol) and the only others we are are a 306 and a Megane lol
V
Still on the hunt then ?, had any luck ?
As said ill await for Jerry to post out and see if we can sort something, sure we can
Is looking more like next year unfortunately, but at least it gives me time to put some more money away for nicer car (or mods maybe
) just want to mainly find out as much as I can about them (any issues to look out for etc.) and what people have done with them, if anything, just plain nosey really lol

-
Hi and welcome.
Theres a car like yours parked in the Red lion Car Park in Horsell, Woking every Saturday night....not you is it?
Why not sign up for Mod day in a couple of weeks time. Its at our place in Chobham, so not far from you. Then you will get to meet some of these guys and gals and have a chat, a cuppa (or two) and some food.
No that's not mine, she only comes out when its sunny and has been off the road since November due to her makeover, hopefully not too long till she comes home though
Unfortunately can't do tomorrow but will keep a look out for other dates coming up, will be at JAE in September as the Supra will be ready and raring to go
Just out of interest what is the Road Tax on the 350?
-
