  1. Out of interest, was this Nismo spoiler the plastic US or fibreglass JDM version? I read the US version doesnt cover the bolt holes from the UK spoiler? Although i fail to see why as it would be exactly the same dimensions as the JDM one, only ABS plastic
  2. I swapped out my spark plugs today and this guide came in very useful It wasnt exactly hard to do, but as previously said, it is time consuming, and i hadnt done it before (probably wont do it again either lol). I put NGK Iridium XI's in, and it certainly feels better throughout the rev range, just a whole lot smoother in general. The ones i took out had 60k on them, and were looking very worse for wear! So glad i took the time to do itmyself and not pay a dealer or something. It's a worth while job IMO.

    My rear end

Nice to see some pictures of this, as i already had the CF version on my wishlist of parts! I think it looks really good with the Nismo spats. I want to sort the looks of my 350z out ASAP, but ive just payed my insurance premium for the year and had the windows tinted out of this months wage packet, so it's something i will do eventually! Good work ++
  4. Right, well i checked the car using my freinds OBD-II scanner, and it wasnt showing any codes of any sorts after a diagnostic run, and tbh, i dont think it is a misfire now, more than likely just me being paranoid since having the cats re-fitted....? I have stuck some STP fuel system cleaner and injector cleaner through it, so i will see how that goes.
  5. Ok mate, will do. I am a paranoid bastard sometimes! lol. So maybe it is just me, but i will try afew things anyway, as i like things to be perfect as much as possible! I come from an extensive Honda background, and im not used to things going wrong or not running right lol. I'll get some injector and fuel system cleaner on my way to my mates and chuck it in, ive got just under half a tank of fuel atm. I remember when i changed the fuel filter on my '99 Prelude, i did it out of interest, not because i thought it needed doing, but my god, what a difference it made, car was on 70k and it had never been changed. Straight away the car felt smoother in the lower rpms, especially on cold, it was like night and day! So maybe that is something i should look into if all else fails.
  6. No, it doesnt misfire on idle, at least, i dont think it does, i havent noticed anyway. The only other things i can add to this which might help, is that i ran test pipes for a week (last week), but i had the cats put back on because i didnt like the extra noise, also it threw an 02 sensor code on both banks, which i wasnt happy about. So we plugged my car into my freinds OBD-II reader and wiped the codes off. It is only since then that this minor hesitancy has started. No codes have appeared since putting the cats back on though, and i havent tried plugging it in since the misfire, so i will do that today. Erm, with regards to the fuel pump, i have no idea what the previous owner used to run the car on, but sinc ei bought it afew weks back, i have only used V-Power. Also i did run it quite low the other day, down to about 30miles left, and this was when i noticed the hesitancy low down, ithought it might have been too low on fuel and sucking @*!# up of the tank floor, could this be possible?
  7. Alright, i have my first minor issue with the Z, and i think i know what it is, but would like to throw it out there incase anyone has other ideas. Basically the car has become slow & hesitant between 1-3krpm, especially if ur in 4/5/6 gear at 30mph, and you put your foot to the floor, it bogs right down, not alot happens at all, and it feels hesitant when it does try to pick up. It didnt used to be like this. Higher up in the rev range seems to be fine though, or under WOT, that is fine aswell. From doing a little research on this forum, am i right in thinking this could be an igntion coil issue? If so, is there anyway of telling which one, or should i just replace all 6 at a huge cost lol? Are they known for going on this engine? I have also got some new Iridium NGK plugs on the way from the US, as i dont think they have ever been replaced! (on 59k miles atm). Maybe i should just change the plugs and see if that fixes it? On a side note, i have also now noticed that the fuel pump seems to be alot noiser than it used to be, i dont know if this is related? But when on idle and stationary, i can really hear it hissing from under the drivers side towards the rear. It's not always a constant hiss either, sometimes it stops, then carries on again, quite annoying actually. Is this a sign of the fuel pump on its way out? All feedback appreciated, Steve.
  8. There is afew RH (US passenger side) rear signal lenses for sale on US eBay atm, and i am tempted to buy one. Would this be the right item i need? I dont want to buy it only to find its not the right part lol.
  9. Hey, i'm looking for a set of these clear rear indictors myself, but i cant seem to find them anywhere. The ones on JDM performance are different (crystal clear), which isnt OEM enough for me. You say you got your ones from ESR? Who/what is ESR? I googled them but didnt find anything at all. Do you have a link to where i can buy them? Cheers.
  10. Alright guys, I was out this evening in my private car park where it had been raining quite alot, so i decided to turn off ESP and have a quick play to get the feel of what happens when it breaks traction (circles not sideways), as i have only driven the car with ESP on since i bought it. I noticed an icon of a car skidding come on the dashboard afterwards, then it would go away again as soon as you stop and turn the igntion off/on again, so i wasnt too worried as i then drove it normally and it did not re-appear. I assume it's some kind of 'your driving like a penis' light? Basically telling me that the LSD had to do some work? But from what i understood, it should blink, not stay on? Any particular reason for that or just having a fit? Tyres/pads/geometry is all good btw, like new.

    Decats...

Hmm, so how much will a set of these puppies cost me? (Delivered to the UK)? PM me if nessercary. Also, do you have any sound clips of these with the Nismo cat back? Thanks

I will probably end up doing that TBH, shame as the little bit of extra HP is nice, but not worth having that noise. Also i am now reading about many stories of test pipes and hfc's cracking at the joins, even with braces. So meh, i guess it was a bad idea, and i probably shouldnt have rushed into it, nevermind.

Ok, so what about if i keep the test pipes, but put my OEM factory exhaust back on instead of the Nismo? Will it still sound like this then?

Just thought i'd chime in on this. I fitted my JapSpeed non resonated de-cat pipes today, paired with the Nismo cat-back exhaust. It's not totally what i was expecting TBH, i didnt think it would sound like it does. I'm not sure if it's the actual pipe themselves, but there is a metallic sort of rasp noise around 4-5krpm, which im not really liking very much. On the upside, i got no CEL light, and the car does feel slighty more responsive, i'm just not sure if im happy with that noise. I will see how i get on with it this week, otherwise i will get the cat's put back on. PS. Do you think that something like the Ichiba Resonated de-cat pipes will sound the same or will it stop that metallicy rasp noise in the midrange?
  15. Yea i actually read that on here, and also saw afew vids on YouTube, and it does sound lovely. I ordered a pair of Japspeed SS ones earlier this morning! Sorry lol
  16. Cheers for all the comment guys. The foglights will be coming out when i take the bumper off for fresh paint, as i myself am not too keen on the way they look either, just not OEM enough. I am also going to replace the Z badges with some new OEM ones, because they are not great quality TBH, and again, i prefer OEM.
  17. This is my first proper post on the forum, other than in the Welcome section, so i thought i would give everyone a chance to see the 350z i picked up at the weekend. You may recognise it, you may not... 2003 GT Coupe Gun Metal Grey 58k Miles 1 Previous Owner Current Extras Nismo Cat Back exhaust system Nismo Shift Knob JWT Pop Charger Z Badges (going to remove) Hella foglight lamps (going to remove) Custom rear seperator of some description, and probably afew other little things. As for future things, i do have plenty of stuff in mind, but all in good time Probably tints and de-cat first.
  18. I'm based in Bournemouth/Christchurch in Dorset. If there is any local Z's around, might be worth a meet sometime Im finding myself spending hours online looking at parts to buy already, and i havent even picked it up yet! I can see me spending way too much on cars as usual lol.
  19. Thanks for all the advice and welcomes I will most certainly have a look into the Shine Auto replica kit, sounds like it is pretty decent quality from what you are saying. I didnt realise only the US version was plastic. I have had bad experiences in my younger days of fibreglass parts, and they werent good! lol I'm an auto & aerospace sprayer by trade, so should be able to install and paint the kit myself, which will save on costs abit
  20. Hi everyone, my name is Steve, and i am due to pick up my first 350z this weekend It's a gunmetal grey 53 plate with a Nismo exhaust and JWT popcharger, plus excellent all round appearance, i couldnt have found a better example for my budget which was £10,500. I have been a Honda man through and through for the last 5 years, but i have been tempted to the darkside by an awesome car I did look at S2000's, and i probably would have got one if the insurance on them was not so terrible. I previously had a 1999 Civic Coupe VTi, and a 1999 Prelude VTi, which were both highly modified engine wise, and were very capable 4 cylinder VTEC motors, but the tone of the 350z V6 is enough to make me never want a 4 cylinder again! Anyhoo, as soon as i have collected the car, and i have had time to sort things out, i will get some photos up. I'm not sure if he was a member on this forum already though. In the not so distant future, i plan on installing the Nismo V1 kit (except the front bumper), and i was wondering where the best place to purchase this kit from would be? I'm not nessercarily looking for the cheapest place, but a reliable and trusty trader. Do Nissan still sell the kit, or would i be paying over the odds from them? I'm not in the habit of buying replica parts, so am only after a genuine Nismo kit in GRP. Thanks, Steve.
