He should just be able to use the design from the later grille? The tow eye mount is presumably in the same place. As you say Husky it's worth doing things properly. I for one would be much happier with a tow eye hole. The last thing you want to be doing if you break down is having to fiddle about removing the front grille.
-
Well we need to make a decision asap as he is about to tool up.
If anyone else is interested in the tow eye cut-out (would go nicely with the tow eye GB currently on) then please post on here ASAP. If you want an idea of what it would look like have a look on page 1 of this post.

Yes I got a reply from him this morning. It's difficult for me to comment becasue I don't know exactly how it fits, but I'm just thinking that for those of us who frequently do track days it will be a pain to have to remove the grille completely. Much better to have a small, neat hole to put the tow eye through. I don't think it would really be noticeable either?
What do other people think?

Sounds good to me. Did you work a solution for the tow eye in the end?

I have checked with Pete and he is happy for us to pay for them direct on his website. He will give me/us a code that we can input to obtain the discount. The exact amount I have yet to negotiate...

looks a bit like pad material has burnt onto the disc. Have you used your brakes hard then sat with the pedal applied for some time e.g. at lights?

Automatic car wash 'Just say no' .... If im feeling lazy 'not very often' I take the zed to a down trodden part of the city to some rather nice Albanian folk who do a jolly good job of washing my car for five english pounds
+1 but Kurdish
+1 but Polish

I'm wondering the same. Abbey would similar percentage gains be possible on a 03-05 car with aftermarket airfilter and cat-back exhaust?
-
I fitted my rear springs myself as they are very easy- just two bolts on each side. Fronts are more complex. I think it cost around £60-80 to get them done.
-
did someone there clean it or did you have to do it yourself?

"All Coilovers are brand new in the box and will come with a 30 days warranty."
This part is rather worrying??
I was thinking the same. 30 days!? Why not 1-5 years!? It is normally a year:
-
agreed, although lower speeds in the wet = safer experimentation!
-
Not the PRE facelift no-that's why we're having one made! It's not going to look much different though...

Easytrack. I think it was extra slick becasue they are used to running Palmer Sport days there, so it's set up to handle lots of people who aren't used to the environment.
I forgot to mention that the garages were open too, so it was first come first served. Very unusual but most welcome!

Track insurance isn't so much for your driving, it's in case of other people being complete idiots
Agreed, which is why I tend to avoid the very cheap days where you often find swarms of Novas and Corsas with inexperienced drivers. I find sharing the day with Ferraris, Lotus etc results in sharing the day with drivers who care about their cars...
Track insurance is a good idea, but for me the cost outweighs the chances of something happening on a well organised day. Bedford is actually very good in this respect as well as it's so long that there were times when I was the only car for 500m in either direction.
-
I try not to think about the worst case!
-
As per the post above yours!
-
£500! No way! As per my first post it was £89 for track time, plus around a tank of fuel = £70. I only live about an hour away so didn't use much petrol to get there. I certainly didn't bother with track insurance given how safe Bedford is. Obviously there is some wear and tear to brakes and tyres but nothing that bad.
-
Agree-best track for novices. Did the trackday on Sat and it was awesome. I will definitely be going back, although this one is a bit too soon!
-
This is a bargain. Bought mine new for £160 and they are perfect. A 30mm drop with the Eibachs may look better but you will be scraping on everything.
-
nice car you got there
anything you'd do different? Never done a trackday in the car but plenty on the bike and every time I did one I went home with a thought: "I'd do this different the next time, I'll use this instead etc etc"
Always. Obviously I got faster as the day went on and started using 4th gear more through some of the faster corners. I also got well into 5th on a couple of the straights Now I know the track I'd love to go back and progress even more. Loads of room for improvement!
BTW my brakes setup is standard discs and DS2500 pads rear, and Dixcel Carbon discs and pads on the front, with braided lines and Motul fluid. The stopping power was immense and there was no brake fade at all. The only problem I has was some judder once the pads and discs were very hot. Not sure what this was but I'm looking into. Could probably do with some cold air ducting.

Got to say im definately up for some track days once ive got the car sorted, would you say the tracks ok for beginners?
I've driven 5 or 6 tracks in the UK and this is without doubt the best for a novice. I broke my track virginity on the 'Ring. Not ideal, especially in March with rain and snow showers!
The only thing is that the GT circuit is very long-nearly 4 miles, so it may be better to start on the shorter West circuit and learn some corners first.

Some cracking pics there, were they taken by a friend / family member or a photographer there?
Oh and loving the dark rays, really suits your car.
The 'action' shots were taken by a pro.

To keep..to upgrade..to get rid

Keep your Z and spend a few hundred £ on some nice upgrades to keep the car fresh and interesting to you. You can take them off and sell them when you do eventually change the car but in the meantime they will improve an already great package.
