  2. Small update, the body shop is strugling to fit it in to get the engine bay and inside painted so iv not really done alot with it! But it is now ready for paint inside and engine bay Started playing with the dash, chopped out the centre, if you look back in the thread youl see the centre bit has loads of switchs in it for stereo, heater, dvd etc etc. Holes for 16 switchs, Ignition fuel pump 1 fuel pump 2 fans bypass side lights dip beam main beam indicators rear fog wipers screen wash horn heater hazards elec window oil/intercooler/rad spray bar A tray at the top to house boost controller, knock meter and gearbox oil temp gauge. A load of elec parts orderd, fues boxs, relays, junction boxs, switchs etc etc Finaly picked up sexy turboness!! GT35/86r with HTA billit comp wheel and WRC metal bearing case! standard comp wheel HTA wheel The turbo even gets its own little oil filter!! -10 oil return flange Also took a trip up to EPRacing and collected some bits a bobs Nardi wheel, snap off boss, oil temp gauge for gearbox and locking catchs for bonnet and boot, as its going to be road legal. Also got this nice grill And thanks to MrSteveo i now how a shifter extension :smokin:
  3. Cheers man!! In regard to driving it once its done!! Feck you!! I asked for a go in your Z loads of times and you said no!! lol
  4. Cheers Doc, the most helpfull info iv had on this thread that 1st kit uses 12/5 springs so me going for 14/7 seams about right No i think there differant, the floor cross beam might be there but im really not sure, not seen a Z stripped out. Il be using HSD mate, which are CS2's. If you ask the supplier (DW) they will order you a set of coilover rears.
  5. More adjustable and the spring and damper work together rather than against each other, so works better for track and drift where you need all of this.
  6. I do kind of agree , but the weight of the car is on the spring , take the damper off the car stays at ride height take the spring of the car will fall onto it bump stops. So this means the load goes throught he spring the damper controls the ocsillation cause dby the spring being compressed. Just had a look around a V35 which we have in for some work it does look a little more stronger than than a 350Z , but I have seen a Z fitted with Coil overs without strenghtening actaully move the inner wing. If you having or had a cage fittied tie the top mounts into the cage end of story. Mark Lol, this could go on some If you took the damper off the car and hit a pot hole, the spring would become coil bound and then bash in to the chassis, this bash would be much greater than the weight of the car acting on the chassis Get what im getting at? Also, springs are often mounted inboard, never see shocks inboard as the forces on the mounting points would be so great. As you can see from the pic, the shelf has a 3" square bar the hole way accross, also above the turret there is a panel that ties the shelft/turret into the C piller. NONE of which are in the s13/s14/s15/r32/r33/r34. Also in this pic you can see a lower cross member, very substantial from one side to the other, also not in the s13/s14/s15/r32/r33/r34.
  7. Correct in a way but not totaly. The shock the turret will get when a bump is hit is far greater than the weight of the car, 4 times or more depending how hard the bump is. (forces applied to dampers have a greater effect on mounting areas than springs do, after all the shock is there to stop the spring ossolating, so there for is stronger) Also, this is not for a Z, its a V35 which has a much greater and substatial rear upper cross brace and parcel shelf. Also, if you look at earlier cars, such as s13/s14/s15/r32/r33 and r34 which are all coilover spring on the rear, the rear inner wings and turrets are fare less substantial than the V35's. How ever the shell has been fully seam welded and also has a serious fully welded and gusseted cage
  8. I have some custom HSD's orderd, being sent with 14/7 springs but im trying to find out what other people have used.
  9. Has any one converted there Z's to take coilovers on the rear? What spring rates did you use? Im converting my V35, but a bit unsure what spring rates to go for?? Curently iv found most Z coilover front/in board spring rears are 12/11, Iv been told 14/7 once converted for a stiffer setup.
  10. Lol, it aint to me but that prob coz i took it!! Lol Its looking at the transmission tunnel from where the front subframe is.
  11. Bit of an update, shes now prety much ready to go off to have the cage, inside and engine bay painted, 3 weeks after id planned but @*!# happens!! More stripping, i forever seem to be unding nuts and bolts on this, its never ending :wack: Big old alloy subframe very clean under there, not a spec of rust!!! And finished the seam welding, finaly!!!! Then a good coat of stonechip Should have the paint inside done by next weekend and i can finaly start final fitting stuff.
  12. Ichiba differant to Eibach Unless Eibach make camber arms???? http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?mode ... rodid=3993 Eibach camber arms are actually SPC and by the time you add on shipping, tax, duty and handling charge then the Cusco A arms will cost circa £450.00. Not if you can dodge the duty
  13. Ichiba differant to Eibach Unless Eibach make camber arms???? http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?mode ... rodid=3993
  14. The Megana sport ones aint bad, i should know, iv been messing with Nissans for over 6 years now and own my own garage specialising in s13/s14/s15s. Not saying there great but, they aint as bad as some of the others like xspower etc. I.e they wont break if you hit a pot hole. Main reason i started the thread was to see a wider range, most the ones on ebay seem to have a rubber bush in them, im after a rose joint. I think Cusco or Ichiba are the way forword
  15. z1 sell cusco for less than £400, and Ichiba even less, ebay there under £200. Only expensive ones iv seen are SPL ones.
  16. I was basing it on your one off price as your short a few on the 10 yet. Ahh them bush's! Im after the solid rose jointed type :S
  17. I cant find the compression arm mounts in your section alex? Also your Camber arms look identical to the Cusco ones but cost more?
  18. Little update Pulled all the front suspension off to seam weld and clean the inner wings After some cleaning, wire brush, rags and thinners Then a coat of white stone chip
  19. Hi Folks, Wheres the best place to get front camber arms? I have Japspeed rear camber and traction arms but i need some front camber arms also! I see there are loads on ebay but im guessing there all crap? Also the front lower arms, the rear one with the big bush, is there any uprated versions out there? Im planning on fitting a rose type bearing to it, but is there any thing already out there? Rear subframe mounts, i want alloy ones! Again i was going to make some but no point if some one sells them already??
  20. Price drop, £1500 Wheels prov sold
  21. Theres not any cars or 4x4's that i can think off which you can legaly tow a 4x4 (landrover) with. As the weight of them! I can transport it on a tilt and slide truck, also based just outside oxfordshire in Westcott, £1 a mile + £40
  22. Iv got a perfectly good one from a 350gt v35, if there the same, i cant see why theyd be differant, they have the same engine and subframe
