I have personally found with the Zed that it is seriously dependant on how heavy you are with your right foot, and what sort of driving you do. (I know this is true of all vehicles but the difference in figures in the Zed is pretty large)
To give you an example, for me personally....
On my daily commute, which is a 72 mile round trip, mostly motorway and dual carriageway (Southampton to Ringwood) with a little bit of around town driving after work (gym, girlfriends etc)
heavy right foot : 22-24
being conservative : 28 - 29
When I had a week off, and spent all week driving around town, lots of cold starts etc :
heavy right foot : 14-16
being conservative: 17-18
I think it is something you should consider carefully if buying a new Zed that you will be using for commuting. I love mine, makes me grin everytime I get in it, BUT I put alot of miles on her (11000 in 9 months, but i've worked away and left her on the drive for 3 of those), which is working out about £300 a month on fuel.
Then take into consideration tyres, brakes, and more importantly the effect of that many miles on the front bumper of your beloved Zed (Don't talk to me about stone chips, my front bumper looks like it has some weird disease) before making your decision.
Still wouldn't change her though :-D

that is awesome :-O Personally won't be spending that much on one, but it makes me very tempted to phone CS tomorrow and order a K1.... lol

I have taken the paint off the bottom of my front bumper pulling into tesco petrol station this weekend. It's a horrible noise, i nearly shat meself.
That combined with the stone chips is starting to really bug me. My front bumper looks like it has some weird disease =(

Who drives with the TCS on anyways???!

Mine is doing exactly the same thing. Work's sometimes and not others, and the spray at the front has been kinda pitiful recently.

haha Hiya Blacky!
That'd be awesome! Will have to have a chat =)
Think i'm popping round tonight with me mum to give her a lift back home again so will see ya if you about. If not i'll just gawk at your Zed on the driveway

haha yeh that was me mate.
Did a U-turn to have a closer look check the first part of your reg to put on here!
Yours is also looking very tidy. Gonna have to get me some RAYS I think, so much nicer than the old 6 spokes.
We should organise a Southampton area meet at some point, have a beer somewhere, seen quite a few around recently.

I'm 25 and bought mine about 4 months ago.
My insurance is fairly heavy, 1100 quid due to SP30, 1 accident in the last 5 years and I think my post code.
The fact that in the last 8 years of driving I only had 1.2 runabouts didn't help much when they asked "have you previously owned a similar vehicle or performance car?
It should go down quite a bit next year as i lose the SP30, another year no claims and a year of driving the Zed.
The zed + insurance is costing me like 400 a month, but the fuel adds quite a bit onto that, i do a fair few miles. Work is a 60 mile round trip.

Yeh I have to say I normally hate the whole gold alloy look..specially on impreza's and such.
Those however, look really really good. Go really nice with the stance of the Zed and with the colour.
Very nice.

I love that exhaust! Looks great and sounds wicked even on that vid!
Any idea of a decent place darn sarf where I might get one?

fuel and economy are not two words that readily go together with this car! I usually fill up before the light comes on and put about 50 quid of tesco 99ron in last time. I usually get just under 300 miles out of that driving daily to work in mix of country roads, A roads and traffic jams. According to the computer its an average of about 24mpg
Same, 24- 26 combined average, just under 300 miles to a tank.
