  1. I've done two trips to Selvio by car, it was when I owned my Puma 1.7 - I have yet to do the trip in my 350Z but really want to do so. I did use the Alpineroads.com web site and it was recommended by a motor cycle rider with whom I was working with. In 2006 I drove from the UK to Lecco for the Italian GP at Monza in early September. On the drive home (with a fully laden car) I went out via Stelvio. The following shots are all approaching from Bormio. Unfortunately, I took a turn off the road and went down a side road (Via Umbrail) to Santa Maria Val Mustair. It was interesting in that a lot of it was a gravel road with very few barriers (which is not good for someone who suffers from vertigo) and there were large camper vans going up it. The road between Colico to Sondrio on the way to Bromio was very slow moving traffic. In 2007 I also drove to Lecco for the Italian F1 race (early September). I entered Italy via the Brenner Pass. While I was near Munich I saw that it has been snowing in the Tyrol area. Italy was warm and sunny. I made a separate day trip just to get to Stelvio. The lower stages (as show in the previous year) were all nice and dry. As I approached the top of the pass it all changed. The following is the view down the pass towards Trafoi. I'd recommend a drive through this pass to anyone. Just be wary of the nutters driving vans and 4x4s who like to take the 'racing line' through the harpins - finding one of these in the middle of the road is not fun.....
  2. Excellent clip. Trouble is - what do you do with the chimp crap?
  3. Thanks for the link - I've also just ordered one. Hopefully, it will work OK. Please post back with how it worked out for you.
  4. I have to admit that I bought a brand new 350Z without even sitting in a 350Z beforehand. I never quite got around to looking at a second hand one. I hate people wasting my time so I really didn't want to do similar to someone else. I really bought one simply on the recommendatiopn of EVO magazine and a friend who had previously owned a 300ZX. There was a place advertising them for £9,200 off RRP last week. The prices before Xmas were droppng all the time. I bought my 350Z GT for £7,100 off RRP. They aren't advertising so far this week.
  5. The dealers are offering brand new 350Zs for under £20K at the moment for a GT pack. They may try and add extras like £400 for metallic paint as well.
  6. I'd hope so!! being were this close to the 370z!!! Wondering maybe if it would of been worth holding out for it........ Thanks for all the replies. Well, I ordered it a week and a bit ago from Crystal of Boston (in the UK). When I first saw the advertisments it was £4,200 off the RRP. I was thinking about spending around £14K on a second hand car. The following week the price had dropped to £7,100 off RRP - so the final price was £22,455 on the road which I accepted (they charged more for metallic paint). They had two Silver and one Black in stock. The Silver one's had SatNav which I wasn't that interested in (I like to get lost with my own directions) - they were going to charge me £1200 extra. As it was my first (and probably only) new car I wanted a gunmetal colour. I was offered the Silver car with SatNav at no extra cost but it was a new car..... The following week I saw a different dealership was offering them for £9,200 off RRP..... My car at the time was a 2002 Ford Puma 1.7 and it's MOT, license and everything else ran out at the end of January. The Puma was starting to feel a bit tired in the handling department - the car had done 75K miles (driven twice to Monza and back). My previous car (a 1997 Puma 1.7) had started to rack up the service costs with lower suspension arms going and other such nasties. So, I figured that it was only a matter of time before the second one did the same. So the time was right for a change. Thanks for the information on them all being built in Japan. I'm not the Simon Norris of Norris Designs. My car history 1977 first car 1969 Mitshubishi Colt Fastback 1978 1973 Mitsubishi Galant 1980 1970 (?) I didn't own a car from April 1989 to around Easter 1993. I was working in London at the time and living around Raynes Park. The Capri wasn't a hoon's car in Australia. We had plently of Holden and Ford Falcon V8s available quite cheap - also cars like the Holden Torana were available with a similar sized engine.
  7. Suppose they had to cut the cost with all your little adjustments Wonder if this is the case on UK models??? BTW width includes mirrors iirc My new 350Z GT comes with the switch!
  8. Hi, My brand new 350Z GT was delivered on Tuesday. I am still finding where all the controls are. Nothing special added to the car - it's bog standard. Can anyone tell me where the 350Zs are manufactured? I've had a quick look around and can't find this information.
