  1. I have to confess, I am a bit of a Fleabay fan oh dear!! Was surfing tonight and found this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0296429133 Is this chavvy or cool??? I can't decide (plus is it likely to attract the Rozzers )
  2. Mine are just the same. My Audi TT used to burn my arse.
  3. My sensible car is a Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI think its approx 140Bhp. Never ever thought i'd say it, but it is an excellent car, good handling for a diesel, very comfortable on long drives, pulls quite well, titanium pack so stereo etc is reasonably good. My wife gets 54mpg on average, if I cane it, I get 45mpg ish. Maybe a bit boring to look at, but I would recommend it.
  4. On my way home from the in-laws last night I had some idiot right on my tailgate coming out of the village. Anyway, just outside of the village is a nice straight slip road leading onto a duel carriage way leading into Dorchester (Dorset). As you start to enter the slip road you can see if any cars are coming from behind; the coast was clear, roads almost dry so I decided to go for it. I was in second gear and accelerated hard up to the red line in every gear until I was doing 90ish, the car behind was still on my tail At this point I eased off the loud pedal back to 70, the car behind did the same. I was amazed that the car behind had kept up (at this point didn't know what it was) so continued at 70 to see if he would overtake so I could see what it was; eventually, the guy overtook me. I couldn't believe that it was a Honda civic type R (08 plate); I know these are fast but thought the Zed would have the edge. Is my Zed slow?? Only had it a couple of weeks. NB: I do not condone racing and would argue that I was not racing, just entering a duel carriage way rather quickly
  5. Surfing Fleabay and found this rather cool looking supercharger!! If you fancy a chuckle, follow the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ELECTRIC-SUPERCHA ... 240%3A1318 and this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ELECTRIC-SUPERCHA ... 240%3A1318 Stocking fillers anyone?
  6. I'm liking the look of these; cool piccies guys However, I was wondering if they can be fitted without removing the pillar cover? I just know I will break one Surely the pillar cover can be cleaned and heated in-situ, likewise, heat the carbon parts too for a good stick???
  7. Welcome, and an excellent colour choice may I say Its a a good time to get to know your ZED when the ground is slippy and you can expereince its and your limits without hurting the tyres too much - find a quiet car park or similar somewhere with nothing to hit and enjoy the cars abilities with the ESP on and off. I like the car park idea My nearest and best one is right opposite the local police station though
  8. Thanks for the advice guys. Think I will opt for the professional approach then get some paint shield applied; well impressed with the paint shield already applied to most of the front of the car:D
  9. Hi All I've only had my black 350Z less than 2 weeks but despite the crappy weather, washed it using the two bucket technique using a lambs wool mitt (purchased after reading here on the forum). Now that I've had chance to inspect my baby up close I have noted a few stone chips on the front drivers side wing that have been badly touched up plus a couple of chips on the bonnet. All of the front is protected by a paint shield or equivalent but for some reason, the previous owner didn't get the bonnet or front wings done, hence the chips. Anyway, whilst browsing in Halfrauds at all the products I've read about for car detailing (boy have I got a lot to learn) I noticed that Turtle Wax do a lipstick like product which if I remember correctly is called a CHIPSTICK, it goes together with the colour wax that they do. Instructions state you gradually apply the 'lipstick' until the wax is flush then lightly buff off. Presume the idea is it fills the hole of the stone chip and hopefully improves the overall look?? My questions are: 1 Has anyone used this product and is it any good? (for the short term until I can sort it properly) 2 What other options should I consider? 3 I presume that once the chips are sorted I could add further paint shield products to the bonnet and wings so that all of the front is protected. 4 Oh yes, is the coloured wax any good (have a few hairline scratches, some I've already T-cut out) Finally, as you can see I'm new to the forum; I have tried to find relative articles by using the search function but couldn't find anything specific. Apologies if this has been covered before. TheOracle
  10. A few years back I had a Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo; put a K&N57i on that and loved the sound, so when I've got a bit of spare cash, popcharger here we come. Need to recover from the initial outlay of buying the Z first:) or the missus is likely to kill me in my sleep
  11. Thanks for all the welcomes. Just been out for a spin into town and back, still got a stupid grin on my face
  12. Hi all I am the very proud owner of a 54plate black 350Z Uk spec with GT pack. This is also my first post, so hi to everyone. Only picked my Z up on Saturday so due to work commitments and the crappy cold weather, haven't really had much time to drive my new toy yet. I have however established that the ESP works!! I haven't driven a rear wheel drive car for a while, especially not one so powerful; gave it slightly too much right foot when only 1degree outside and lost traction slightly, oops!! Anyway, I am being careful now and am sure I'll get used to driving the beast very soon. I'm sure over time, i will have many questions for the forum and also hope to contribute to the community. I wonder how long it will be before I seriously consider upgrades?? Already, I want a pop charger
