  1. I'm 22, going to be 23 in December, with 0ncb. Adding my dad and mum as 2nd and 3rd drivers. I think I'm basically got it down as far as possible from the online quote on Bell. it was about £1350, as i said i'm using it to commute to work as well.

But just thought i may be able to get a bit more off? what do you guys think?

How many years have you been driving? Im 23 in January with 0NCB and mine is £2625 with bell so I think £1350 is pretty damn good! ;)

The great thing about bell is that you can 'tweak' it online.. for example, instead of having bodykit as a mod, its cheaper to have front bumper, sideskirts and rear bumper ticked!

that is a massive difference. i've been driving for 5 years. and the policy has me as main driver and then my dad and my mum.

i'll give the bodykit trick a try see if it does anyhting. thanks mate.

still cant believe how similar we are but with massively diferent quotes.

The difference is you have been driving for 4 years more than me

yes that must be it. you missed that bit out before. just tried to tweak the quote but didnt see the separate choice instead of the bodykit option.

  3. Have you tried the insurance companies who advertise on this forum's Home page ;)

I have looked at the threads, but there seem to be so many. dont think i'l have time to go through all of them. Any which i should be calling first?

  5. hope this is not a stupid question. but i did a quote online at Bell insurance for a Zed i'm looking at. Just wondered if there is any way of talking to them to get it cheaper. If I rang them, what do i say to them and how do i go about doing it. again, hope this is not a stupid question.

    thanks

  6. hi guys, i've just decided that most of you are right and that life is too short and i should go for one. i think i've spotted one on this site. just want to see what you guys think.

personally i think it's great for the price. but just wanted to know how to factor in the things like the mods and also it's something i want to keep for a while, so is 30k on the clock alot? thanks guys, hope you can give some input.

  7. sorry if this is stupid question guys, but am relatively new. just wanted to find out about the fuel with a simple question. i hear that super unleaded is recommended for the 350z but is it absolutely essential. what would happen if filled with normal unleaded? thanks

  8. :welcome: Hi

I understand your worries - but we are all in the same boat - I heard about the 370Z before I was buying mine and yes 350Z can be costly to run (but my personal situation is high miles to work ) but even so its the best thing I ever did.

If we worried about the superceding models appearing on the horizon we would never buy any cars -its just the way it is - just enjoy yourself - buy the best you can afford have fun with this loony club, (Zed's much more fun with this lot  )

I dont intend to get rid of mine (if I can help it) and I dont want to think about how much its depreciated since March but as others have said its a long term friendship with a Zed!

Good luck with your search and we are here to help ;)

very true mate, life is too short to worry about whats always coming around the corner. definitely hope to get one soon. just saw an awesome deal in the for sale section here. the veilside. just a shame it's come a month too early. slightly short. gutted.

anyone else seen the car i'm talking about?

  9. Z4's are for hairdressers :winkiss:

The Z4 M is a different story though, i think the coupes look fantastic!

agreed, the Z4M is a complete different story, so i still stick to my opinion on the normal Z4.

reading the long post above makes me really want to drive a Z4M now.

on the coupe front, i still cant figure it out. some days they look fantastic and some days i'm not sure

  10. Dont you knock the Z4 owners :boxing: They, and the caymans are what keep my sanity

dont get me wrong, i'm not knocking the z4 owners. i think it's a good car and was myself very close to getting one. i was merely commenting on my view that there are too many on the road at the moment.

  11. there was an argument between the z4 and 350z but i dont think there is anymore. 350z is definately the way to go. my opinion is based on me wanting to drive something that is more unique and rare. the z4 has become too affordable and no longer is it rare. in the last two months alone i've seen 4 of my friends buy them. whilst they do look good for the price, but that fact that they are too common and rubbish to drive means that the 350z wins hands down.

  12. Just get the best condition one you can. Nissan warranty is 3 years. The dealer network is very mixed. Some decent dealers but most are awful. There are very few mechanical problems generally on these cars so not too much to worry about.

that's pretty reassuring about the mechanical problems. just saw this on here as well:

this looks perfect for around xmas time for me. what do people think?

    cheers guys

  13. Dont know where you are getting them from bud, good price though. :D

Just been looking at autotrader and theres a couple of 07 ones on there for £17k now :scare: , so mines a complete rip off now in comparison lol (guess i'll be keeping it now).. The value has dropped by £2k in less than 2 weeks :bangin: Glasses Guide still showing £18 - £21k, I wish...

If anyone fancies my bonnet they can have it for £350 BUT they would have to collect or arrange their own courier due to the disaster that happened last time I posted a bonnet ;)

dont know if this helps or not, but may be interested around xmas time.

  14. Hi bud,

Moved you to the intro section so you appteciate one part of ownership that you may not have considered. This place :D

There are a lot of external issues affecting the prices at the moment and a good selection of bargains out there.

Its one hell of a car and a buyers market.

Feel free to post up any cars that you asre looking at and we will give you an opinion.

    cheers mate!

thank you for your comments. will definately keep them in mind. have only really been looking off the nissan website as was thinking of getting of an approved one, but not really sure what that really means in terms of guarantees mechanically. not too hot on the mechanics myself and just want to guard myself getting one that has engine problems due to being thrashed around too much. mileage i guess is an indicator but at the end of the day still tells me very little

  15. I think now is the time to buy to be honest...

I would be suprised if zed prices dropped significantly more than they already have done.

I bought an e46 bmw in 2006 just before the new shape coupe came out. I was expecting prices to reflect this a few months on but they didnt really. I think the potential owners of a £12-16k second hand zed are an entirely different market to those looking for a 370z.

Also, with the current state of the world, i would question whether the economic problems will remain this severe... and if they dont the prices of the 350z could possibly rise slightly as consumer confidence returns?

Sod it, just get it bought!

i hear what your saying and believe me i'm tempted. this is the car that i want, but just it's still a big decision so have a couple of other back up plans. not sure how long will keep this either so it's got to be factored in. and it's interesting the point you made that maybe prices will go up again. but have the prices actually gone down at the moment? like how much should i expect to pay for a 06 reg onwards, black Gt pack, with max 15k on the clock?

    thanks
