You guys coming up the A1 or M1? Cos if you wanted to do the A1 plus a little fun xcountry to the M1, its right where I live! which would save meeting at toddington ^^ plus theres quite a nice road heading out that way

What brings you to this part of the world Martin?
This one wasn't me btw!
-
Also, do you have a dedicated subwoofer output rca lead, as I plugged mine into this and my alpine HU allows for sub base volume to be adjusted independantly of anything else. Altho I do have to have it quite high just to balance the sound which may be down to the ICT thingy.

If you ask the seller to state on the packge slip that the contents are valued at no higher than $50, then you shouldn't need to pay import duty.
My brother has bought many items off ebay from the states and has done this several times, has yet to pay import duty.
Hope this helps
Something to remember if you do try to go down this route though is that the postal insurance will only be up to this value if the package is lost or damaged.
Be careful with this one, if you take the p*ss too much and they happen to notice the contents, both you and the US supplier will be in trouble!
Im not 100% sure what penalties are enforcable by customs, but id be guessing there would be a fine of some type as there is with all other taxes!

I had a look at the service checklist and the timing chain tensioners aren't listed on it at all for adjustment. You may have to check with Nissan what work is needed and when if any.
-
I will be there now
I was meant to be taking my R32 gtr on track but have a problem with it ( NO ECU ) . So i will be there in our 350z and should be taking it on track too.
Hope to see some of you guys and gals there
I might try and jump in ur track session. Is anyone else planning to get out on track?
-
I am awaiting a replacement wheel since they kerbed one last month, apparently they take a long time to come through from factory??
Si
Just wait, soon it will be going back to have all 4 done when they start bubbling ^^
-
Servicing is 9k or 12 months. P1, P2, P1, P3 P1 etc. Kuro is when cleaned but keeping it looking like that
What he said. So yeah to both your points!
Ill check on the chain tensioners sometime. Books in car ^^
Tbh i would say neither, cos i really like the sunsets! But of the two it would be Azure in my personal opinion.
But then i got a Grey/Silver one, so my views probably dont count for much
Oh, and look at private club sellers, normally some good cars around!
-
People that are staying in B&Bs, which ones/where abouts are they? Ive found about 3 in the centre ish of FA with quite reasonable prices, not sure if anyone else is near them tho. They are all about a 2min walk from the canal.
Am I right in thinking that everyones heading out into the town/village for beers?
-
Well, if i spend the day there with m8s, i could still make it to newcastle ish area probably even a bit further in that evening. I have driving through the night, so will need to stop somewhere.
-
I was thinking about spending the day at Alton towers, in which case I would definately be needing to stop somewhere.
-
Hmmmm, if Clarkies 06 has a Gen2 ECU then hopefully mine will too being the HR engine? Might have to think about getting this done
-
Anyways, sticking it on Nixy kinda wouldn't work as shes not transparent so you couldn't read the writing
It could be in a "special" place that only we knew about *wink* *wink*
And they would have to be viewable at our request! 24/7!

-
I was planning to stick it on the rear quarter window, but not fully decided yet.
If I can do a trip to the nurburgring next year, i can get a sticker for each side
Anyways, sticking it on Nixy kinda wouldn't work as shes not transparent so you couldn't read the writing

The £500 doesn't include a new ECU/chip, they simply unlock the current one so that it can be remapped.
Having said that, a mate of mine build ECUs and he was saying that he didnt think the memory in the stock ECU will be good enough to get a fully custom map as they are limited to the number of rewrites and the cheap memory used in oem ECUs can only take 100 rewrites and he was saying that it will take thousands of rewrites to get a half decent map.
Maybe nissan spent some cash on the ECU? If not, it looks like this will only provide a generic map, not specific to the individual car.

At least you still have a sense of humour, even though you must be feeling pretty gutted
So the insurance were fussed about the exhaust not being declared? Or did the garage just not mention it ^^
-
Well given that the alternative is around £1500 for the Haltech, plus tuning on top oh and fitting ofc, its actually pretty reasonable!
There are also piggybacks, but i dont know how much these are, and again most of the cost is not in the part but in the tuning.

Wise choice! Hopefully you can get yourself another Zed in time for the next Wales meet!
-
Sorry to hear about your loss Sarah & Tony. Nice to see fundraising is going well.
Almost £900 + gift aid, point to note for anyone else planning to donate, don't click yes when it asks about the raffle etc so that the gift aid can still be claimed.
Its only a minor discrepency compared to MPs expenses!!!
If this has already been mentioned, please ignore me, didnt have time to read the whole thread!
-
Yh, that is a shame altho I think it was maybe expected after hearing about the state the car was in after your accident
How old is the Zed? Did you manage to get all the mods off before the insurance ppl had a look at it?
Tbh you need to do some research as to what these cars are going for with similar age, and check the Glasses/Parkers guide prices to see how far off the insurance company are.
I have a feeling they will probably be a fair few grand off what they should be paying out and you will have to argue with them and prove that the car is worth more than that. It will be a fight, but if you simply accept what they say, you have no chance of getting anything more

Facelift cars all have washers if UK spec, altho I thought even the older ones have the washers too and it was just the JDM imports that dont?
-
Is the plan to stay in FA for the whole time and head out from there to whichever route we are taking that day? Or should I be looking at some other hotels & B&Bs in other areas?
Toyos - major problem

I think nissan knew what the mechanics were like when the added this safeguard!
Seriously shocking tho. Mine have a load of marks around the nut holes on 1 wheel but they will be refurbed once the fronts start bubbling too ^^
The nissan dealer I spoke to said they use a socket with a nylon washer to try and stop that happening, but its only on the Zeds, other cars dont seem to suffer, it seems your garage decided to use a normal socket!
