Thanks guys - you sorted me out nicely!

Does anyone know how I can make this photo small enough for my avatar? Been trying to reduce the size using paint but Ive got it down to smaller then a pin and it still wont upload.

Is there a way I can just specify the size I want it to be and just enter that in rather then having to shrink by 10%, save it, retry and repeat?

Any help much appreciated.

I had the pleasure of seeing this bad boy when I collected mine from CS couple of days ago.

You just cant beat that colour IMO and its gonna turn heads no doubt about it. Bet the owner is well chuffed!!

Thanks mate. I wont be spending any more on it for a bit just yet so Ill see if I can afford a wing at a later date but for now I think it looks good without one.

As IanS16 pointed out I also think it needs a spoiler. Ive wanted the INGS+1 low mount wing since I bought the kit but at over £1k its not going to be any time soon.

Or if hes really into his mods and power gains then a piggy back ecu (unichip etc) will also allow you to de-restrict and give you all the other benefits of tuning!

This route will work out around £600 including fitting and mapping.

Isnt there a way that the seller can mark it as a gift? You dont pay any imprt duty on a gift and you can still mark the correct value for insurance.

Of course there is the risk that it will get questioned but even if it does what are they going to do? If you both say its a gift then its a gift!

I was planning to post up and advertise my single din stero for sale. Its a Sony though. I bought it for about £130 a fair while back and then I sold the car it was in. It was fitted for a grand total of 2 days.

Cant remember the model number off the top of my head but it has a front mounted usb slot for ipod (or even just plug a usb stick in there filled with tunes), also a front mounted stereo jack input.

Its a lovely unit mate and Ill let you have it for a good price as its just taking up space at mine.

No one has mentioned it yet but I know that ive sacrificed a lot of the original class and style of the car. Its much more agressive now and really aimed at shows and track use (roll on the CAT driver training day I have booked in July). It wont be to everyones taste but Im glad that so far its being received well.

Ive not been bothered by the aerial until now but now that you mention it I cant get it out of my head. I will be changing ASAP. Is is the s2000 stubby aerial that fits?

I also need to get my wing mirrors in black and the black lip put along the bottom edge of the sideskirts but thats all for another day!

Ok so you all know how long the Zed has been away for - almost 6 months in total. Getting the car back for 2 days only to have it crashed into and trailered straight back was a particularly nice experience.

But the wait is finally over and the Zed is back and IMO its better then ever. Im absolutely blown away with the work and the fitment quality of the new kit. It is much more aggressive then before so it wont be to everyones taste but I hope you all appreciate what Im going for here. So here goes with the new spec:-

Genuine INGS+1 N Spec front and rear bumpers

Genuine INGS+1 Vented Bonnet

KW V3 Coilover Suspension

Ill let the pictures speak for themselves but I am now officially back on the show scene and cant wait to see you all at some great events this summer.

I must give a special thanks to CS (Mitz) who supplied the kit, sorted out the work and got me a fantastic deal - not to mention being a great friend and keeping me sane throughout the whole thing. Cheers mate - look forward to catching up with you at a show or two this year

Based on what you said I figured the battery was the culprit so decided to start with that.

In the end I went for lomoto's original route and removed the battery and the battery tray. Took the tray with me to halfords and they had a uk battery that was the perfect size.

Had a bit of luck too because they had one in stock that already had the smaller terminals so it was a straight swap.

Car now fires up quicker then ever and had no problems since.

Now I guess I better do that other post and give a write up of my "new" zed.

Well I finally got the car back and I am over the moon with the work - another post with pics to follow on that

One problem though is the battery. The car wont start at all without being jumped but once its running it keeps running. I drove it back for 4 hours, turned the engine off outside my house, instantly tried to restart it but nothing.

Mine is a JDM with the smaller battery. Do you think I just need a new battery or could it be something else?

If I do change the battery does anyone know the size of one that I can fit in the JDM. Ive read about what lomoto did by taking the battery tray into a store and asking for one in that size but does anyone happen to know what size it is?

How about buying a spare gear surround section off ZMANALEX or R35LEE and then mod/cut/drill it to your needs, then should you come to sell the Zed, just replace it with the standard one...

+1. I'd cut a hole and mount it as flush as I could.

how do you then plan to stick the moulded part down to the centre console after you have removed the cling film? Will you be using some more double sided 3m stuff?

Another option is always fibreglass. That way once you have made the piece you want you can rub it down and spray it to match the dash.

If this is the case then why isn't there more people buying these? Why spend thousands squeezing a tiny amount of power out of the engine and still only being able to hit 155mph, when you can buy this de-restricter and go at warp speed on the track obviously

I would say that for anyone going on the track regularly it is a must to have it de-restricted (if it really does open up another 30 odd mph)

Most everyday drivers and mod boys arent really in it for the top speed (I stand back and wait to be slated if im wrong) but I know for me personally I mod mostly for looks, noise and maybe a bit of extra torque. I cant imagine when Ill be getting the car up to 155 through everyday driving let alone 170.

For JDM's I guess its also a must as they are restricted much lower. Im taking a different route to the HKS though.

Is there no other way to de-restrict the zed than buying these devices??

A unichip or other piggy back (or even stand alone engine management system) should also allow you to de-restrict but if you are just interested in removing the speed limit then you will need this.

I didnt realise the UK ones were restricted?

Are the clutch lines after market and if so what improvement do they make over standard? As you can tell I have no idea about this product but if I can mod for moddings sake at only £7.50 then im interested

I would be nervous of the JDM performance ones. I bought 4 and one blew within 2 weeks, two have gone almost a red colour glow now and they are very dim

Damn it Ive already placed the order. Actually its not that much of a problem as they arent too expensive. Ill go with the JDM for now and if they do start to go tits up then I can always replace them with the ones you recommended. At least I wont have to change the cluster more then once.

I already have the rear clear cluster so Im ordering the bulbs from the links in Chris's post above (JDM Performance and Ebay).

All set to go now once everything comes back.

I managed to get hold of an OEM light from a UK car. Was planning on fitting it to my JDM when I get it back. Problem is though that all the links to the bulbs in this thread are now out of date and no longer work.

 

Can anyone provide a link for the silver indicator bulbs and also the red one for the fog light?

 

Or just let me know what I need to search for on ebay/google.

Sorry, I am a muppet sometimes and dont think what I am typing! That is indeed the fog light, not reverse light Its definately the one you want, I have tried loads from the same seller and that was by far the best. Passed the MOT with flying colours last Sept with it in my clear cluster

No worries mate just wanted to make sure I was getting the right thing. Going to order the bits now and give me something to do when the car comes back.
