  1. I'm afraid I've bottled it (for now). Cash is in a savings account and by the end of March I'll be the proud owner of a shiny new Vauxhall company car. I suck!

Mods, please can you lock this thread for me? Can't type any more, fingers keep slipping off the keyboard due to all the tears!

  2. :yahoo:

Decided to get the zed out whilst the weather was fine and the weather nice. But had a major scare later when i passed two parked up police cars whilst giving it the gun :headhurt: Got away with it though ;)

As I said, it was looking MIGHTY good bud! I would have waved but I was driving a Rover 200 and it's difficult to wave when you're hiding in the footwell!

  3. I think that's a bit pricey, but I am rapidly becoming an absolute tight ar*e!

Fred Coupe (Nissan dealer) in Preston have a 54 plate in Azure blue with 26k miles on it. It's up at £11,995 but the mere suggestion of a discount got it to £11.5k. I reckon you'd get it for £11k.

The one at Westway Nissan in Manchester has been there for at least 6 months. It's recently been dropped from £14k to £12.9k, and I reckon there is another grand in it from what they've said. And that has the advantage of being a 55 plate, although (from memory) it is higher mileage.

At the end of the day if you pay £12.9k for the GM one, it's still a lot of car for the money!

  4. Hi. New to the forum so forgive the geek-factor please.

I've done a 2000 mile trip to the southern Alps and a 3000 mile round trip in Europe this year in our 07 350z gt and tried a few miles per gallon experiments on the long toll road legs of the journey.

I found that the most economic engine speed is exactly 3000rpm and that I could often get over 500 miles off one tankful (ie tank brimming down to empty, but stil with a few miles to spare.

We only averaged 26mpg over the entire trip, but would have done nearer 35 had it not been for that damn Stelvio Pass getting in the way.

On another occasion we were promised a full tank of fuel by Nissan for a **** up at the Nissan garage and I managed to get £92 into it, when petrol was around £1.12 a litre. This works out at 82 litres, not bad considering its only supposed to be an 80 litre tank.

What speed is it doing at 3000rpm in top gear?

  5. This is a theoretical question, as I'm sure no one has ever done this (or would admit to it!).......

If you sat at 60mph on a motorway for a full tank of fuel, what would you get then?

    BORED? :p

    Very good that!! :teeth:

  6. Gonna struggle to get all that for £10k imo.

Maybe......although I was at a Nissan dealers on Saturday. They had a 54 plate GT, azure with 24k miles which was on the forecourt at £12k. That came down to £11.5k within about 2 mins. I think if I handed them my switch card they'd have done it for £11k. And that's at a Nissan dealer.

I'd imagine that when the realisation that a new one can be had for circa £20k, the used market will start to reflect this. I priced up several over the weekend and at the moment it's now cheaper to get into a new one on a decent PCP arrangement than it is to buy a cheap used one on standard finance. Scary!

  7. :yahoo: CONGRATS ............the hardest part is done ( finding the wonga)

Thanks man! I keep trying to ignore what it'll cost to run and keep telling myself that life is too short, got to do this before I get to 30, got to do this while I don't have kids, got to do this while it's an option etc etc.

I'll be glad when I've finally taken the plunge!

  8. Cheers bud! I've been checking Pistonheads, Autotrader and Ebay on a daily basis. Quick question for anyone in the know......is it possible to search Autotrader for newly listed ads only? I keep having to look through every car at the moment, which gets a little tedious to say the least!

  9. Finally, after 5 years of wanting one I have the cash in the bank for a 350 and will be looking for one over the next few weeks. :yahoo: I'm pretty clear on what car I'm looking for, so if anyone has one similar to that below, please feel free to drop me a line. I have to stress though, that my budget is around the £10k mark. Anyway, I'm after:

350Z GT coupe with (preferably) Rays alloys.

Prefer black or GM with alezan, but others will be considered.

    Must be a UK car.

    Must be HPI clear.

    FSH

    Prefer bog standard car

    Mileage preferably below 40k

And obvioulsy good all round condition.

I'm based in Manchester but will happily travel for the right car.

    Thanks in advance!

  10. Deals we are getting within Nissan are on 350Z (top spec normally £32k can be got for £19), X-Trail, Pathfinder, Navara, and Murano all with about 45% off. If I didnt have my 350 to still pay off I would have got one of the above for my partner.

They are also offering a deal where you pay around £2.5 deposit, £250 a month for 3 years, then either pay the remaining balance or just hand it back!!!

No deals on Quashqui, Note, or Micra - yet!!!

    Its looking bleak!! :headhurt:

Is anything like this likely to be offered to the public? I'm after a black GT with alezan leather. I've got it down to £23k so far but judging by what you're saying, there may be still a bit more to go!?!

  11. Sorry to hear about this.......

I've used them several times and absolutely rave about them. Maybe I've been lucky or you were unlucky.

Were they totally unhelpful about sorting the problems out?? I'm very suprised by this, and it's making me re-think using them again. Which will be a shame!

  13. I've bad mouthed this government for a long time, but as a prospective first time home buyer and a prospective zed owner, they are starting to grow on me!

I just read that as of 2010 the road tax on the worst polluting cars will go up by UP TO £30 a year. So £400 road tax may be a fair while off yet(that statement will probably come back to bite me!).

  14.

i've post a link of this car. just a note it's not a 296bhp model as advertised.

    i'm suprised it's on a 56 plate, as facelift i've seen on 06 plates i think

i would have thought if they had stock left over it would have been registered before the facelift.

    What is it then???

  15. I did a search but couldn't see a topic that covered this. Apologies if it has, and mods please delete this thread if so.

My question is, how critical is it that the service history is adhered to EXACTLY? I'm looking at a car on Pistonheads that has the following:

    23.07.07 - 11,204 - Evans Halshaw Nissan - Full Service

    11.12.07 - 20,001 - Evans Halshaw Nissan - Full Service

    06.06.08 - 32,625 - Evans Halshaw Nissan - Full Service

01.09.08 - Both CV joints, boots, and rear wheel bearings replaced by Evans Halshaw

It is exactly the colour combo I want, and is cheap (56 plate, GT pack £13k). Would the fact the last service was missed by 3,500 miles and the first by over 2,000 miles put you off buying it??

    Thanks in advance!
