  1. Thats the blue spacer i sold to one of the members on here. Apparently it was supposed to be very expensive and ideal for your application. Yeah find some blue spacers :teeth: nice bit of colour coordination for a split second before you fit the plenum

  2. Ok latest update is really good news. I have the PS3 working perfect without that little cable and cicuit board. After having a chat with a guy in the know, he told me that all the cable and board was, is a sensor lead for the discs. When you put the disc in it senses that its going into the slot and grabs its and pulls it in. Without it all it means is you have to push the disc in a little further.

The main problem why i couldnt get the disc to read was that all the alignment was out on the laser which stopped it reading the disc, After stripping the bluray drive down it now works as good as new. So the kids are happy, i'm happy and the mrs isn't

  4. :welcome: that is an import, and it seems like they are trying to disguise the fact for whatever reason. Best to stay clear as it may off had rear end damage due to the bumper being UK spec. Also a lot of imports want have much or any history, so this could have been written off in Japan and brought over here to be repaired.
  5. Fitted the new laser today and now i have a slight problem

I don't know how it happened but the very thin red and black cables have detached themselves (snapped off) from the yellow male plug, and the whole thing is so small i cant even fix it. :surrender: Just scoured the internet and found the part (which is called CP03034 2pin cable for the ps3 dvd drive) only problem apart from the fact that you can only buy it with the little circuit board attached  why i do not know, its direct from the manufacturer in china and i can only buy in bulk, so Mr Jay Wang informs me. 8 US dollar per cable and a minimum order of 20 pcs. $160 plus $39 for postage. Then of course the custom charges

In short unless i can get hold of this cable from a dealer in this country for a lot less than that, i may well be scrapping my PS3 and buying a new one on top of the other two PS3's i'm buying our boys for xmas. Where's a lotto win when you need it? :bang:
