  5. Hello fellow Z-ers, I took the car for it's first MOT since I've had it and it passed on everything except for emissions. It registered a CO of 0.44% (max allowed is 0.2%) Here are some more details: - DE engine - Cobra HFCs (unknown installation date) - I added Cataclean before the test and drove it for 40 mins - The car had 97 or 99ron only over the last year - It first recorded CO 0.72%, but after holding it at 3k rpm for 15-20 mins, it went down to 0.44 and wouldn't go any lower. The garage said I need new cats. I've asked around and someone suggested new spark plugs and air filter. So, my questions are: - are spark plugs and air filter going to make up for the difference to make it compliant? I don't know when they were last changed. - are new cats the only way to go? From searching on the forum, even new HFCs seem to be hit and miss. - has anyone had any experience with the ISR Performance HFCs. They are the only ones I could find that are 300 cell. https://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/isr-performance-nissan-350z-vq35de-03-06-high-flow-cat.html Thanks
  6. 255 are biggest i would go on rear rays wheels, 235 should be ok for fronts, going to 40 profile will mean car will sit a little lower so will alter the geo/toe The A052 are a mega tyre but if you are not competing the car against the clock/racing then your better with another option as they wear quicker than just about any other tyre, the new nankang crs are similar price but supposed to wear much better then there are all manner of semi slicks that are cheaper and better wearing albeit with not the outright grip of an A052 if you have the money your as well buying another set of wheels for the track, then you can get wider wheels and tyres for more grip.
  7. WOW brilliant day, THANK YOU all so much for coming. Great to see faces old and new. Today we were front and centre, all cars looked amazing! 50 strong at the Coventry Transport Museum 2024' 👌 Stay tuned for the next one ✅
  8. Yes I hope to be there and let’s hope bacon baps as good as last time, take your point about the postcode as last time ended up in some nearby village where every property appeared to be a barn 🤷‍♂️😂
  9. Hi have anyone come across swapping there seats from just hot to hot & cold is there a wiring harnesses out there for this as I've come unstuck I didn't think there would be much difference from one years apart this is the seat that I wish to fit in my car but with out the correct wiring harnesses I'm lost
  10. Took the Z to its first track evening at brands on Wednesday. Absolutely loved it, was the first time I’ve really been able to push the car hard since I brought it a few months ago. Car is still completely stock so learned a few areas I definitely need to improve the car for future track days along with improving my driving too. I was happy with how the car managed apart from some brake fade which I already expected beforehand with the stock brakes. I did change the fluid to 660 motul before which im sure helped. however I definitely need to change out the standard discs so I am thinking of going to the DBA discs with ferodo pads. as for tyres which definitely need changing anyway as there already on the limit legally anyways - I have been recommended Yokohama A052s with a 235/40 - 265/40 on the standard rays 18 which I’ve already got. Car currently has 225/45s front and 245/45s rear which I have no idea how this would compare. Does anyone have any feedback with this setup or opinions/other options to look into? I know this is quite an expensive setup so not sure if I should choose something better value. I was thinking of buying another set of rims to so I can change out for track day sets and just Road use sets.
  11. Great meet there guys! Good work for the forum as ever Dave.
  12. Well done Dave another well turned out event and the weather held out surprisingly, you seem to be getting the knack of providing rain less days, have you got the details of the one in the Cotswolds thanks. Ps will let you know how the pump fitting goes. 🙈
  13. The clutch is bedding in nicely and I'm really pleased with the result , with Goodwood player's on the horizon and it's about time to get the paint sorted out . It has been on the car for well over a year and needs professional paint correction ceramic coating, I contacted a gentleman called glimmer man and he has done the work and he's done a lovely job
  14. This is pretty much finished fully ceramic coated
  15. Great day out, thanks Dave for arranging. Attached is a very short YouTube clip of our Z's
  16. PPF can be expensive £1500 up to £3800 for a whole car over here. It will protect against stone chips but the paint wont look as HD as it could. It will look reflective but the colour would be dulled somewhat because of the film. Polish, prep, Ceramic coat it. Stone chips Will Happen if you tailgate or get caught on the motorway while behind an hgv or salt truck. Tbh youd probably need to be close to beyond quarter of a mile behind anyone to avoid bouncing stones.
  17. **Great turn out for todays meet at Coventry Motor Museum! Again it was great to see everyones pride and joys in all their glory! My phone camera aint the best but here are a few snaps i managed take which were half decent...... i had to include one of my own car at the end 😁 Great day guys! 👍🏻
  18. Ceramic coating brings the colour out and beads water the size of grapes! This my Trophy 2 years on after gtechniq coating.

  20. Ah, my favourite topic! Coating or PPF, the same advice applies: look into the product as they can very significantly, and find someone experienced with the products you want to use for the sme reason. Graphene coatings are still in theit infancy and still don't deliver on the many promises. I've not found one that I would use over an SiO2/Quartz/Ceramic coating. And everything, absolutely everything, is going to need some maintenance. My preference is still very much Gyeon (Syncro Evo, for those interested, but Mohs Evo and Pure Evo are both pretty awesome in their own rights) but DIY products are not hugely dissimilar so stick to any of the respected brands and you'll be fine. As Dan says, proper prep is essential to getting the most out of any coating so if you're doing it yourself spend the time there. If you're not confident enough to do the prep yourself, get a detailer to do it all for you - just find a new detailer @marzman, your local guy isn't the right guy for this job! Accredited Pro only coatings are, to some extent, a bit of a gimmick in as much as anyone could use them properly with the right amount understanding, but they are much easier to get wrong and experience does go a long way to getting the best out of it - think of it like painting, anyone can do it but experienced professionals are probably going to do it better. Are they worth paying extra for? It depends. Personally, if the same person was offering two products, one an off-the-shelf product and the other an Accredited Pro only for a premium, they would need to justify the premium to me beyond just being formally recognised as able to use it. Don't get me wrong, some (although not all!) do offer benefits and others (although much fewer) don't necessarily come with a premium.

  26. Shocker, seller bigs up his own product 😉 PPF will protect the paint, but never looks as good as naked paint. Coatings will look the best, but can still chip. Personally I’d go coating every time, avoid the ultra cheap but anything after a certain price is much of a muchness. It’s all about the prep (so machine polishing before is a must, even on a brand new car) and how it’s applied, it’s really not that difficult to do no matter what professionals say. I’ve done a Gallardo Spider and a Skoda Supervb, both very different vehicles with very different paints but the application was the same, and the results equally as worth the effort.
