P1251 Diagnotic Error

Help, has anyone come across this before, I started my car and it made a funny noise and stalled, then would not start and engine managment light came on, then started fine. Took it to my friend garage and it came up with this code P1251.

 

He reset the engine management light but it happened again but after a few starts with no problems. Been runing fine for a week then yesterday started car and the power would not go above 1000rpm, so switched off and started again fine.

 

Any pointers would help.
