flyboy Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Has anyone tried an Electronically Tuned intake instead of restricting the flow near the MAF sensor to speed up the air flow as most manufacturers do. This modifies the signal to the MAF sensor to avoid leaning out the mixture due to reduced velocity of airflow in a bigger diameter intake tube. http://www.aemintake...AEM_Catalog.pdf Page 8 http://www.summitrac...iew/make/nissan Edited March 25, 2014 by flyboy Quote
flyboy Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 Write up on it here. http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/ID/2326/PageID/4133/Project-370Z-Testing-the-AEM-ETI-Cold-Air-Intake.aspx Looks pretty good to me so its on the list for my shipment from the states later this month. Quote
Cake Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Interested in these to be different and look to be quite good Report back and let us all know how they are. Beat of luck! Quote
ross27 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I assume that this is only beneficial for non mapped cars? I was always under the impression that a custom remap would carry out a "MAF calibration" which would take account of a cross sectional area of the intake at the point of the sensor? Obviously this could be a good solution if you didnt get a remap, however, really how much of a difference will it make? Quote
flyboy Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) I decided the position of the intakes was not suitable for the area I live in Lots of big puddles and minor floods in the winter and mainly on single track roads. Therefore its off the list. Edited May 11, 2014 by flyboy Quote
