Ipod/Iphone Power connection

Hi guys, did a quick search but couldn't find anything conclusive,

 

Planning on doing the bose hack at the weekend, but i want to put a power source in for my iphone at the same time, so i have an aux and apple lightning connector both in the cubby hole,

 

how can i wire an iphone 5 cable into somewhere behind the headunit with switchable power? i have a 12v to usb adaptor? could that be a way to do it, but how do i wire the 12v plug into the battery somewhere?

 

Any advice would be great, cheers in advance for your help!

Well for a start find a wiring diagram for the lightniing cable. I would also check the amperage required for the iphone to charge as I once had a 12v usb connector which i plugged the iphone cable into it and the amps were half what it needed to be.

 

I did the bose hack a few months ago. I have a 4s and wired in an iphone connector to the bose. Maybe you could do the same with the 5
