I must be a major minority in thinking that engines which give you 100% of torque at all times, allow for pleasant listening to music/conversation in the car and can potentially go for thousands of miles without needing to fill up (give the technology 20 years) are a very good idea.

 

Yes, a loud exhaust, big fat engine under the bonnet and all that jazz is cool right now, but I think once electric cars properly take over, the vast majority who are so stubborn right now will very quickly change their mind.

 

I see where you're coming from and yes new technology will undoubtedly become common place in the automotive industry which can only be a good thing for the planet etc but there will always be a following of enthusiasts who live for the traditional combustion methods. No doubt the best kept models will be worth a lot of money if combustion is phased out.

 

I'm a petrol head at heart but would love a flying car ;)
