I knew that there were going to be harsh fines for manufacturing high CO2 producing vehicles, but I did not know they were going to be that high. I'm hoping that the link works okay as it's to a specialised engineering magazine.

Interesting stuff, but I have always thought that the manufactures have this technoloy they just dont want to use either through cost or their releationships with the oil companies. In hybrid car like the Prius the electric motor already works like a supercharger when the car is under full load so it's not a massive stretch of thought
