Fuel cap snapped off :( Can I reattach it?

My flimsy security cable thing has broken (at the body secure point) so it can now come away from the neck when it is unscrewed.

 

No biggie but a little annoying.

 

Anyone know if I can reattach it?

Hi mate,

 

I used some silver foil tape and just taped mine up

think a new one from was about £20ish

I used a small electrical block connector and some black tape.
