kepsyboy Posted August 19, 2011 Share Posted August 19, 2011 hi all , how can i identify if my 2003 import z has hids or standard headlights , i have purchased some replacement lights from jdmhondaparts , unfortunately these only work with non hid models, but will work with aftermarket hids ,but will require mods , jdm say i will need to cut wires before the ballast and adapt them to the wiring or get aftermarket hid kit and adapt , any one got any ideas or links to solve this prob thanks for reading this post Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MidnightRacer Posted August 20, 2011 Share Posted August 20, 2011 Turn the lights on while facing a wall. HID's come on dim them get brighter and are a blueish tint. Its hard to explain anymore but it should be blatently obvious!. and if you DO have HID's replacing them with non HID bulbs is a backwards step IMO. you could always use the bulbs you got in the high beam as these are non HID.
