Easiest way to change it is to forget about it, the 350Z does not have a pollen/cabin filter.

Ok,fair enough,I just thought all modern cars had them...that accounts for a lot of fumes getting inside when following a smoky diesel.

Indeed, but then look at the centre console and notice the slot that accepts plastic cartridges filled with a polyester type plastic film with a magnetic coating.
