Attching studs to wheels

I have just had my Ascari Penta wheels refurbished again. I need to reattach the studs to the wheels. last time I used some tiger seal that someone recommended but it's expensive and I only need a small amount and you need to chuck the tube out after use so most of it will be wasted.

 

Are there other alternatives I could use? I was thinking about normal silicon but I read it may cause an adverse chemical reaction to the wheels. What about no nails?

 

When I say studs I mean the 20 small hex bolts that go round the rim to imitate that it's a split rim.
