noise and vibrations diagnosed as back box

I have looked at the forum for information on back boxes and searching the internet. My car developed a worrying loud vibration and noise from rear when the engine was hot and subsequently got worse over the weeks and noise travelling to the front of the car. The garage says its probably the back box. Sounds reasonable to me. Anyone got a back box please?
