is a bose equiped car ? if so that is probably the low voluem culprit and can be made lower with a line driver fi your new headunit doesnt have very high pre out voltages.

I havent done the swap myself yet but 1 inch spacers seems to fit most speakers .

you may be able to make the volume a little louder in the settings .... my jvc has the abilty to up/down the volume of the pre outs hidden deep in its menu so it maybe worth looking to see if you can do that.

if your still needing more power then its line or get a real amp in .

does the steering remote not work at all , none of the buttons do anything? if its completly dead you may want to check the connections and carefully check the little weak wir that goes in to the back of the headunit from the control unit(short wire wiht a conector on it thats pioneer specific) as ive broken these in the past due to being very fragile single wires !

Hi jamakalbi,

Tread carefully with your speakers buddy, if you take a look at the back of the factory speakers you will notice that the baskets are quite shallow and the magnets are very narrow in diameter.

My Focals were a royal PITA to mount... The baskets and magnets were of similar depth to factory speakers but the magnet was far wider and as such fouled the window. I had to mate several speaker rings together and they finally cleared the window without touching the door card.

If you want to avoid frustration on the day I would suggest buying several rings of different depths so you can play around the mounting depth. I also believe Kenwood make some shallow mount speakers too so that might be worth considering.

Good luck!

Matt

I had the F910BT fitted this weekend just gone.

I had a fitter who is a friend of the family help with all my wiring as wouldn't have been able to do it on my own but may still be able to help. For the in car tec he had to take 3 of the loose cable and cionnect them up to the spare 16 pin connector. There was instructions on which cables connect to which of the Nissan wires. Also I used the 20-020 cable.

The ipod was fairly straight forward and just worked. The one part of the IPod cable plugs into the USB cable that is fixed into the back of the head unit and there is also 3 connectors on the lead that then have to plug back into one of the Pioneer looms, they are labelled audio and video input.

Whats the problems you are having?

Ive got focals in the doors, a tip to mounting them easier is to cut the cone out of the standard speaker and then mount you new speaker on the remains, i did mine with some cable ties. This firmly secures them to the OEM mount and makes it very easy to mount in the doors. I would recommend replacing the speaker wire while your fiddling around as this will boost your sound quality a lot.

Sorry for the late reply.

With regards the IPod, is the Pioneer set to Ipod under Aux1 input within the settings menu?

Your sound issue could be sorted with a line booster but if you are thinking of getting some new front speakers, what about biting the bullet and taking the car to someone like SQ Plus in Manchester or another decent specialist that has worked on the 350z before. They may be able to sort your incartec steering controls, fit the line booster and fit some new speakers in one go. I have heard SQ plus have a good rep but never used them.
