We got to the track early on Friday as we are doing a test day on Saturday before the race to get used to the track and do some final adjustment.

Test day went very well, we spent 2 hours in total at the track and got the time down to 1mins 43. We were very happy with the result, however we found our the rear engine mount bracket snapped in 2 pieces. There nothing we could do about it so we just hope is gonna be fine for the race.

Qualify –

We got out in the middle of the pack and got hold up by slow traffic, so the qualify wasn’t very well, we only managed to get 1 min 46secs which put us on 7th overall and 3rd in our class.

Race 1 –

After the qualify, we found another problem – the outer driveshaft CV snap and it was leaking out gearbox oil. We temporary fix them with Cable tie and glue hope is gonna be ok for the race.

Had a pretty good start and jump a few place got myself up to 5th, thanks to Carbonetic giving us the amazing twin plate clutch which make the launch much easier. At lap 2 Michael EK outbrake himself and straight into the tyre wall so we gain another place, also a MR2 blow up the engine on the other side of the track and leave a lot of oil on the surface so Safety car was out for the next 4 laps. By the time the safety car got back in we only have 2 laps left. My car was suffer with understeering due to the gearbox oil leaking to the passenger side front tyres. So we finish in 5th overall and 2nd in our class.

Race 1 result –

1st Kris – Orange EK

2nd Dixon – K20 DC2

3rd Andre – Accord

DNF – Michael K20 EK.

Race 2 –

We had a really good start again and jump another place up to 4th and keep up with Kris EK for 2 laps it was hard because his car was really quick for this car and pulling a lot more power than we have. After 2 laps, due to the shifter failure we have lost 2nd and 4th gear and saw Kris pull a big gap from me. So I finished the race in 2nd again and with 4th overall. Surprisingly we still lap 1 mins 43 secs with all those problem, it was still a fantastic result for us and we are happy with the 2nd place.

From now we have 6 weeks break until end of August at Snetterton, it will come with new engine from DMF performance hopefully can give us back to around 250bhp and sort out all the damaged from Cadwell.
