Can I remove this screw ? on shut line/p of door.

Open drivers door, and on the panel between the outside of the door and the inside (where lock etc is) there is a small 'allen head' screw/bolt roughly in-line with the bottom of exterior door handle.

 

For some reason this is rusting (on otherwise immaculate car) so I want to whip it out and clean or replace.

 

Just want to check it's not part of any door lock/window adjsuting mechanism, or anything will fall off inside.

(the same screw/bolt doesn't exist on passenger side).
