lewis Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 so what are the weak points of the vq engine? i.e. what bhp can standard internals take are there any known bad points such as bottom ends or generaly things dropping off? cheers Quote
Removed Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 rods over 450bhp are known to fail driveshaft over 700Nm torque also fails, if Chris uploaded the pics he has from 1 MILLION YEARS AGO it'd be even nicer Quote
Guest prescience Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 As above. For a N/A designed engine to be able to hold (fairly reliably) an extra 70% or so HP is pretty remarkable. 450+ internals (e.g. pistons, rods, studs etc) 600+ sleeved block, water injection etc 1000+ crankshaft++ (although nobody knows) Quote
Chesterfield Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 if Chris uploaded the pics he has from 1 MILLION YEARS AGO it'd be even nicer In the Donny show gallery boss. Quote
Removed Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 you might want to point it out in the original thread too then thanks for that Quote
