so what are the weak points of the vq engine?

 

i.e. what bhp can standard internals take

are there any known bad points such as bottom ends or generaly things dropping off?

rods over 450bhp are known to fail

 

driveshaft over 700Nm torque also fails, if Chris uploaded the pics he has from 1 MILLION YEARS AGO it'd be even nicer

As above.

 

For a N/A designed engine to be able to hold (fairly reliably) an extra 70% or so HP is pretty remarkable.

 

450+ internals (e.g. pistons, rods, studs etc)

600+ sleeved block, water injection etc

1000+ crankshaft++ (although nobody knows)
