davegrimmett Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Hi all, I'm a new owner, and loving my black convertible 370, but am getting irritated by a metallic clicking that is intermittent but frequent , and always seems to be heard when going over slight bumps. I can hear it too when the top is down, but it is a slightly different clicking noise. Could it be the boot latch? Something to do with the struts that hold up the roof? It's definitely coming from the rear of the car. Anyone else had this issue and know how to sort? Hope you can help! cheers, Dave Quote
alex.azlo Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago same here, constant click ticking tick sound i'm also driving a convertible..... it's been getting worse I think it might be the springs, ill check with the top down and test some things Quote
Keith D Posted 10 minutes ago Posted 10 minutes ago (edited) It's not the infamous, but easily fixed, rear axle click? If so drop a rear wheel and have a look at the rear drive shaft nut in the centre of the hub. There is a thin pressed steel cap which goes over the nut and has castellations for the split pin. It's this thin pressing that is rotating slightly (clicking) because the thin steel castellations will be distorted. Fit a proper machined castellated nut instead, buy the kit from Torqen or Tarmac Sportz. 20 minute job to fit. Edited 2 minutes ago by Keith D Quote
