Vortech air filter change

Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows if changing the air filter on a Vortech S/C is a bumper off job ? or is there an easier way ?

you may be able to change them from underneath depending. I'm yet to do my first service but will attempt this method first but I have an Amuse bumper

You can get it off without taking anything off. The guys at abbey know the technique, give them a shout.

You can take it off without the bumper off, You have to crush it slightly though to remove it.

I presume from his profile picture he has a vq35, so the supercharger layout is different from yours.

Thanks for that, and yes it is a 350z DE. Would crushing the new one slightly to re-fit damage it though ?

It probably does very slightly, hence why I only ever took mine off when it was time to change to a different easier to clean filter setup.

Quick google shows you this is how people do it, you can see the ridges are no longer 100% straight.
