Yeah losing torque is cr*p compared to gaining power at the top end - not a good trade off; makes me wonder if Nissan just did it to inflate the Hp number?

Seems quite likely

Thanks, was previously thinking about a plenum spacer, but the Kinetix Plenum & Cat Package looks good value, have sent them an e-mail to find out about postage.

You have the V+ don’t you?

Been off sick all day with bronchitis, nothing better to do that read all the 350z boards. I even know what a plenum is now! I can't help thinking this is the item of choice:

It even looks recognizable as a car engine with this in place - at least to me, but then I last did any modding 20 years ago on my Morris Minor! Maybe instead of ordering new I should have bought a 2nd hand Z and bought lots of bling to go unda da bonnet!

Have just ordered the Kinetix Plenum & Cat Package, will let you know when (if) I receive it and then fit them.

The Plenum looks OK to fit myself, any ideas if the Cats are easy to fit, i.e. on my own with the car up on axle stands, or is it a garage job?

I did my own plenum, not THAT complicated (a bit for me anyway, but that's because I have no experience whatsoever  )

Cats are more difficult, you need a ramp at least! I had them done at a garage....

mixed feelings about the SSV from the US tbh.... I think it's next to useles if you are FI, IIRC (so no good for my future plans)

hmmm... B) Kinetix website http://www.kinetixracing.com/ says: "Then there is the SSV, our complete intake manifold solution that has dyno proven gains of over 50 RWHP for forced induction and 16 RWHP for naturally aspirated setups! With it's polished stainless steel finish, it is truly a seemless fusion of beauty and power."

Go on, you know you want one... ;)

I do, amd I haven't even got the car yet!

yah but quotes from companies can not always be relied upon mate, I'd rather go with users' reviews and dynos :)
