  1. Availabilty is not a problem at all, we always keep them in stock as 350z have same brake pad with the

Honda integra dc5 type r, so we always keep alot in stock.

All the others you mentioned their disk are designed to use with steel base pad and they normally suggest ds2500 or pagid is because they are easy to get hold of but this doesn't mean they work well with each other. That's why this threat originally about (Dba disk) and now dixcel was one of the solution for Chris and give even more braking power.

If you gonna run our disk and ds2500 pad then we are back to the same problem like what Chris had before.

For more info with dixcel please see www.dixcel.co.jp they now have a English website.

    Thanks

    Dixon

  2. Need to let you guys know our disk will not work on others pad, our disk are designed to use with carbon compound pad which give very high initial bite at low temperature plus it runs at very low temperature as carbon doesn't store as much heat like steel based brake pad like the others.

If you need something last long we can supply r01 race pad front and type z pad rear, you will still get very high initial bite from that but with a pretty long pad life.

We can also supply HEL braided line or custom make titanium brake line for your car, that's why we use in 24 hours race.

  3. The pad he got on his is the Type Z pad they are the official pad for group N race series in Japan and they change their pad every race, but you cannot find another pad have such strong braking power. They change them every single race but they run on Full slick, normally on road tyres you can get 3-5 track day out of it on an average track like Brands hatch, Donnington... Cadwell is abit hard on the brake and same as Rockingham so they wear out a little bit quicker on those.

If you want next step up, I would suggest the R01 pad. They last 4 times longer than Type Z pad and only £30 more. Only downside is they make abit of noise when they are cold but once its warm they bite just as crazy as the Type Z pad.

  4. I hve tried to brake late when I drove his but the abs just kicks in when I tried to brake a little bit harder. Didn't need to push it too hard as it was his first visit to brands hatch, Just showed him all the textbook line and braking point for the first lesson so he can have a target to practice in the afternoon session, will go more advance when he get some better tyres next time:)

he still braking later than most of the others but with better tyres we can do it alot later;)

  5. Door you can pick on up from spare for around £200-250, wing is around £100-150. So it shouldn't be too much for repair.

There speaks a voice of experience in these things! Personally if it was me I would still be shaking from what I've done. Glad you lot are so level headed.

Yes we have a bodyshop here as well and we have a lot of customer with a 350z mainly use for track day and I have pretty much seen everything with crashes

  6. All Nippon The Final – Brands Hatch

    24th Oct – 2009

    PICT0352-1.jpg

Since the last race from Snetterton back in September, we have done a few upgrades on the car to prepare the car for the final round. First we manufactured a custom made Carbon Fibre splitter as the original wood splitter kept braking every race due to the high down force. Brands hatch is quite a bumpy circuit so we decided to make a Carbon Fibre Splitter and see if it lasts longer due to the increased strength also giving us more stable down force. We have changed the wheels from 16s back to 15s as we believe this is more suitable for Brands Hatch from our data from previous races.

We arrived on track on Thursday morning for testing, we knew the track was going to be wet over th race weekend so we set the geometry to a wet suspension setup for testing on track, even though the track was perfectly dry and sunny on Thursday .We were still lapping mid 53 secs a lap with the wet setup so we are very happy with the results and feeling positive for the race.

    Race day –

The weather report was correct, as expected we arrived the track at 6:30am and the track was already very wet. Our mechanics gave the car a quick check over and we were ready for qualifying.

    Qualify –

We were the only ones running Semi slick tyres in the wet, all the others were running Wet cut slick’s. More and more rain started to fall, which started to worry us a little. We tried to go out early for a clear flying lap but unfortunately the track was unbelievably wet. We were the first group to go out in the morning, but by the time I had completed my outlap, I had unfortunately caught onto the back of the pack of car’s on their outlaps, who were obviously testing the grip levels of the track slowly. I spent my next 13-14 laps overtaking other slower cars and just before the session finished I only managed to pull a 59.5 secs putting me on pole in my GT250 class and 6th Overall, Kris Dunlop was only 0.1 secs behind.

    1st – Dixon Cheng 59.5

    2st – Kris Dunlop – 59.6

    3rd – Michael Clark – 1 mins 2 secs

    PICT0056.jpg

    1st Race –

We decided not to switch to Wet cut slicks looking at the qualifying results we thought we would be able keep up as long as we didn’t make any mistakes, again we were the only one’s running Semi slick for the race.

I had a pretty good start and managed to keep myself in front of the Buddyclub DC5 for a lap until we hit the straight we could clearly see the power difference, The Buddyclub DC5 were in GT300 so were not racing with us so I didn’t take any risk’s as I didn’t want the same problem which happened last year. (engine blow up in the last lap in 2008 Brands hatch final) We let them pass us on the straight. After seeing Kris’s car disappearing from my mirror then the whole race was pretty straightforward without any problems. We finished 5th overall and 1st in our GT250 Class

    1st – Dixon Cheng

    2nd – Michael Clark

    3rd Lee Bennett - Neal

DNF – Kris Dunlop due to an incident with the Subaru on the last lap.

    First race Video -

    Race 2 –

Had a pretty good start again and over took the Js Racing DC2 in the Super GT class. We lead all the way until we hit the main straight, the Js Racing DC2 were running in the Super GT class, meaning they were allowed to run Dunlop Wet slick’s so they overtook us easily on the straight due to the extra traction they got from the last corner. They were in different class anyway so we didn’t try to keep up with them. Again we were leading all the way from the start to finish 1st in class and 5th overall without any problems.

    1st – Dixon Cheng

    2nd – Michael Clark

    3rd Lee Bennett - Neal

    Race 2 Video -

We also set the fastest lap in both Race 1 and 2 in our class.

It was a great weekend for us, and was a perfect ending to the season with 2 class wins. Our K20 DC2 will now be retire and we have already started building a new car for next season. We yet to decide if we will be racing in Nippon Challenge again or Brit car next season. We will announce next year’s plans in January.

Special thanks to Buddyclub this round as they provided us with the new 15inch alloy and the ST1 touring car cams for our car.

  9. Yes 100% sure, I have tried and tested on our race car and many of our customer race car. The leading Timeattack buddyclub DC5 car is also using the exact same brake combo like you have.

No matter what you do, they just won't fade even if you do 180mph on the motorway and use left foot brake for 5 mins, as soon as you lift off the gas your car will just stop.

Being carbon compound thats mean they will not store any heat in the brake disk and pad unlike the normal Steel or ceramic base pad.

Let me know how its feel after your next track day, you will be surprise how much different will make when you have the proper racing disk and pad on the car.

Make sure do at least 8-10 high speed braking (100mph-10mph without letting them have a chance to cool down) to bed in the disk and pad before you go on the track because you need the pad surface deposit to melt on to the disk evenly and they won't melt until 600 degrees and remember don't bed them in gentle because they are not designed to be use gently.

    thanks

    Dixon

  10. Thanks, they are high Carbonise disk and being special DAV (Dual Active Ventilation) design so the disk will not store any heat. We have see over 150 degrees drop with this design compare to other disk when using on track so your pad and disk should last much longer than anything you have tried before.

If you want to know more info about this special design please check out this post - viewtopic.php?f=38&t=27677

    cheers

  11. I am 5ft 9'' and I found the driving position pretty perfect in the Z.

The correct seating position should be having your waist both rest on 12 o'clock on the steering wheels with both hand straight and when you drive your hand should be always at 3 and 9 position, You might think you are sitting far too close but trust me this is the proper racing driver sitting position

  12. Spark plug look alright, is completely normal to be a little bit white. The misfiring caused by wrong ignition timing, sounds like running too much retard thats what causing the misfiring sound.

It was great to see you Mark, sorry yesterday I feel alittle bit ill so didnt really have the mood to talk...:( Remember when you need the camber kit let me know so I can sort out your alignment problem.

Jerry - you should try our Dixcel package, you will be surprise how much braking power you will get from this setup.

  13. Artech tuning have approached us last week to help them to transform their show car S2000.
