  1. For future reference (VG you may wish to add this to the tutorial). Having looked at the 2002-2006 service manuals downloaded from 350z-tech (each contain the navigation connection info and schematic) this is how it stacks up 2002-2005 JDM - any Xanavi Nissan DVD navigation unit made between these years should fit - (would reccomend checking the pin configuration on 2005 units just in case) 2006 - has a different connection and will only fit 06 onwards cars.
  2. If anyone has a JDM 2006 or onwards and wants a working nav unit PM me as I have one to sell.
  3. Ian - nope wires not pulled out its just a different model - Im guessing yours has an 06 disk rather then an actual 06 unit then as for your unit VG - I googled the serial number and found that it was from a 2002 hence the perfect fit with your 350 It doesnt look like a harness adaptor exists to go from one nissan system to another as they are usually sold to fit a OEM loom to an aftermarket system - so the next step for me is to find a 2006 loom and splice the connector head on to my existing loom. I will give that a go before I put it back up on ebay
  4. PROBLEMS!!!!!!!! my nav unit arrived today - having unpacked the damn thing I noticed that the connector on the back is different to the JDM one (not the extra leads for av but the nav connector) DUH! should have known to check as my car is a 2003 and the nav unit is 2006 - how frustrating my dreams of nav have been set back already and Im 300 quid lighter! Does anyone know of a supplier who might be able to sell some sort of adapator to fit over my old loom to fit into this new one Let that be a lesson to anyone else - make sure you get a picture of the connectors before you buy it
  5. £1800! - dropping £320 on the x trail unit doesnt feel as painful now!
  6. hi, finally got my hands on an x trail unit via ebay today - paid a premium to secure it but Im looking forward to it arriving already! - I had one question about fitting it - I notice that there is a smaller rectangular piece of trim that fits around the dvd unit - can i swap them over by just removing this or will I need to remove the whole rear panel?
  7. thanks for the advice - i'll stick with them a bit longer then
  8. update on this - had a mechanic inspect the car and couldnt find anything handbrake related- so I took the car back to Elite Direct where I bought them from - and they just put it down to a "characteristic" of the EBC sports discs - having done a bit of googling it seems that alot of people have this same noise - some describing it as sounding like a field of crickets which does sound familar! Anyhow it looks like I am stuck with the ridiculous noise unless I junk these expensive discs and replace them with standard ones No more EBC for me -utter rubbish!
  9. Hi, its definetly coming from the rear - the noise only happens when I brake Im going to try and adjust the cable from inside near the ashtray and see if it makes a difference
  10. Hi all, trying to get to the bottom of this problem I am having with my JDM 350 - got the front brakes and pads replaced and while there I asked the guy to tighten the handbrake cable (well thats what I think he did) as the handbrake was very loose - ever since then there is a strange "whirring noise" almost like a quack! - wondered if anyone had experienced this peculiar noise and if it is an over tightned handbrake cable how to I go about adjusting this thanks
