  1. not sure i shoudl be giving away all my secrets in case you secretly work for them....;)

I went through confused.com. Searched for car from my reg and found it exactly.

have a look and see how you get on!!.:D

  2. well........i went to a well known comparison website yesterday and entered in all my details, the fact i am 28, 5 years no claims etc.......

the results.....at the top of the list was £240. £240 i hear you say jesus.........unfortunately it was too good to be true as once directed to their website it went upto £820. So i had to settle for second best....well annoyed :D ...........£280 a year.lol. and with a very reasonable £100 excess.

I think it may have been a bad day for their pricing computer but i paid there and then and elft a deposit which has come off my card already. No way i was passing that up.

i still think this is cheap. what you guys reckon??

  3. i will phone the taxi company this afternoon.

as far as the car goes, it appears to be ok. i have washed the front off and dried it and he has only damaged the number plate and the black surround thingy. and as someone said, i'll jsut attach the plate to the bodywork instead.

he just blamed me for being....ready for this......'behind him' to which i replied where would he expect me to be???.

i got his taxi number from the plaque on the back of his cab.

  4. driving home last night, waitign at a junction and the guy infront pulls out, then decides he is too far in the road, slams it in reverse and reverses into my car.

luckily all that is damaged is the number plate(now on das) and the black plastic 'fascia' thing holding it to the bumper.

You had to smell this guys breath(taxi driver)......not sure he hadnt been drinking, and his eyes gave it away also. anyway, i got off lightly, more inconvenience value than the expense.

might phone and make a complaint to the taxi firm though that their driver is pi**ed and cant drive!!

  5. hi people,

and before someone says it. i know it has probably been asked before, but i am getting more specific by sayign what hea dunit im buying. :D

its a Pioneer DEH-P7000UB which i think looks quite good and has a few features on it.

what i am after is havign the steering wheel controls workign with it and also incorporatign it into the bose amp/speakkers.

can someone just list what leads i need, as my local car audio place want £120 for all the leads which i am sure i could get cheaper if i have a look about.

thanks in advance for your help

  6. hmmmmmmm. not good. was thinking about replacing it when i had the money, and now is not that time...lol.

i only had it a month form nissan, so shoudl be under their warranty still, so may take their new one.......wish i could take the cash instead and do my own thing..

i'll get it booke in and wee what they say.

    thanks

  7. the other day whilst going round a corner slowly (i promise) the passenger side of the car had no sound and i am also pretty ocnvinced the sub is not workingg as there is now no punch to it. I have put the sounds over this side wiht the balance and it is really really muffled and quiet.

anyone have any experience of this and/or can suggest some cures of what to do ?

    thanks

  8. hey,

just looking about at decent kenwoodsand pioneers are about 600 ish and by the time i had it fitted and changed a few speakers etc it up to the £1000 mark.

thats why i looking at the ebay cheapie units. gotta be a review on them somewhere, maybe i'll track one down and see.

  9. i know i know......they are drawing me in. Problem is i am skint at the moment and even if i wasnt the justification of £1000 on a car stereo is not easy.

we'll see. i just know if i did get one its not gonna be good, althoguh feedback on them seems to be all good thoguh!.

  10. i think putting it in the place of the standard head unit is therefore the way forward. still intrigued by these ebay units, and may take a flyer. If i do i'll let you know how i get on, unless im too embarassed and ashamed to tell you how bad it really is :p

  11. as soon as i posted the link, i thought someone woudl say that...lol....

yeha i know...i did think that, but always quite liked the idea of having it behind the cubby hole. looks better.
