  1. If replacing the front speakers you really do need to amp them. I cut up the old bose speakers and bonded my JL TR650-CSi's to the bracket. They were £100 and sound great but then that could be because there running of a £400 JL 300/2 Slash Amp.

  2. If your really lucky i think theres a few Rev-up cars with the updated interior that fall under the cheaper tax band. I want a Rev-up car so pay the extra on tax.

  3. thats a standard issue with trying to wire OEM satnav through a new headunit. several people have already found this out.

i don't think there is a specific output that can be re directed into a headunit.

I have kind of done it. I have wired the sat nav into the aux input on my Alpine headunit. To hear the sat nav voice i have to select aux input but i dont find it an issue as i dont use the aux input.

To fit a headunit your looking at the just over £60 for the fascia and looms. Then i'd fit it myself, it really isnt that hard.

  4. Ive just realised after looking at another thread i may have made a mistake on my insurance. I'm with elephant and my number plate doesnt come up in the system so it asked me to manually enter my cars details. I put in Make:Nissan, Year:2006 (55,06,56), Model:350 then i have an option of...

    (296) Conv

    (296) Coupe

    Fairlady Z Coupe

    GT Conv

    GT Coupe

    GT Coupe (Imp)

    Z

    Z Conv

    Z Conv AU

    Z Conv Imp

I put down GT Coupe as my car has the GT Pack but i now think this is wrong as i didnt know there was an actually Nissan 350GT. I'm then thinking it should be a (296) Coupe but then theres no mention of Z so what about just Z? What about the extra price of the GT Pack though if i declare it as a coupe only they wont look at like for like in the case of a claim.

Just seen this topic aswell and they declare it as a 350 GT Coupe also...

  5. If your keeping the bose amps and speakers then i can highly recommend an Alpine headunit with Imprint. Mine sounded ten times better when i swapped out the headunit for my 9886R and Imprint processor.

  6. The parrot site says you need cable PD000114AA but i'd consult an expert as i'm only going by what the parrot site says.

The parrot has its only volume control. The way parrots work is they have an input and output for the speakers. When listening to your radio it bypasses the parrot. When making a phone call it mutes the radio and switches to using its own internal amp, this is why theres an issue when connecting to the bose system as the parrots output cant connect to the bose amps.

  7. Some men just dont like it when girls know more about cars then they do. My girlfriend has had many arguments with men at work that think they know better. Its not untill they see what cars we drive they realise we dont pick A-B euro boxes that they drive but drivers cars.

  8. why not get a offcut of sheeted carbon fibre, and cut it to the shape of under the brace, and mount it to the sub box, cut out the hole for sub, job done.

I was going to do this but with carpet, i have the carpet but no wood. I was going to get a new box made with the hole in the middle but the guy who does them went on holiday and i couldnt wait.

  9. It was a temp thing for now and does the job well. The box was slot ported and taller, i had it made for my Z4 to JL's exact spec, to get it to fit i had to reduce the height and volume so its now sealed.

I'm not big on looks when it comes to audio, no one see's it :)

  10. Not the tidiest install but it does the job, my JL 300/2 and 500/1 amps...

And the awesome sounding JL 10w6v2

I'm still running the stock rears as after Imprinting the system it sounds very good.

  11. Was this all in another 350Z with bose? Reason i ask is i'm not sure how it will work with the bose amps.

The ICT 29-674 loom uses front and rear preouts to provide the signal to the bose amps. The way Parrots work is they have there own internal amp that powers the speakers when making a call etc.. Theres no way of connecting this up to the bose speakers.

Ive done a similar install on my mates Vogue and we had to add an extra centre speaker to provide sound when making a call.

  12. I went from a 2.0i BMW Z4 to the 350Z and apart from fuel and tax i think the 350Z is cheaper to run.

Its cheaper to insure, tyres are cheaper then 17" RFT's, servicing is cheaper, parts are alot cheaper. My Z4 cracked its exhaust manifold, was replaced under warranty but a refurb manifold/cat was £700-800 plus fitting.
