  1. The auto box is tiptronic - you can use it just like a manual to obtain full control over engine speed and gear choice. I have driven a umber of autos and this one is very good compared to others.

Reason I didnt like it was because of the torque converter

  2. Driven both the auto and manual.

Personally, I'd never get the auto, this is a sports car and it needs to be a proper manual. You can feel the torque more, juyst feels 10x better IMO.

Even tho I dont like the auso on the Z, I actually like the SMG on the E46 M3, so not completely against anything non manual

  3. I owned an E46 M3 SMG, sold it to get my 2nd Zed.

E46 is quicker, more revy. 350 is better in the bends, more planeted imo.

MPG was between 19-21mpg on average (m3), A roads and motorways journey to work. The 350 (MY06) is giving me between 20-22mpg. So not much difference.

I'd definately have another E46 M3 that's for sure. Superb car, fast and very practicle.

If you didnt have a car right now and were offered either one to take home, which would it be?

  4. Worst thing, the paint :headhurt:

I take it it chips quite easily then?

Havent had mine long enough yet to know what the worst thing is. In fact, it only "properly" arrives next week (I can drive it now but cant take it home yet

Guess cabin noise is a little loud, but if I wanted a silent car I could have bought something like a Corsa instead

  5.

Also for comments like when my Evo ownering mates missus asked why he didnt get a 350z instead of their boring looking Evo! That one always cracks me up, when he gets all pi$$ed moaning his car is quicker!:lol:

Lol thats quality. Precisely the reason why I didnt get a scooby actually, quicker yes, but overall, a big NO

  6. I'd have felt like smacking him as well, but I think it was much better you didnt. Drunk arseholes like this guy will be along everyday, and as hard as it is, you just have to ignore these people.

Used to deal with drunks quite a bit in my last job as a bobby(ducks and hides for cover :headhurt:), and theres just no reasoning with them.

You did well not to lose your rag

  7. Thanks again for showing me to that thread.

After reading it, am I right in assuming that because the car doesnt have OEM tyres anymore, all it needs is now a wheel aligment and it should be ok?

Unfortunately theres no local dealer here to consult :(

    Thanks again

  8. Cheers Martin, just going to have a read of that now.

Andy, not got the car yet, but I just remember reading somewhere that early cars suffer from uneven tyre wear on the inside and apparently had to fixed under recall, so just wanted to do some research into it.

Hopefully the car I'm looking at wont have that problem :)

  9. Hello All

Tried to do a search but couldnt find anything in the hundreds of results it produced, but is there a thread that has covered the issue of uneven tyre wear with 350Z's?

I seem to remember it being mentioned and just want to know more about it before I get my car, as its an 03 car I am looking at

    Cheers

    J :)

  10.

thanking u... could be my entry for the calendar tbh....

the cabin noise is ok...... bit too much tyre noise compared to most cars but that could be because i have my standard exhaust back on after having the 5zigen on for about 3 months...so maybe i'm noticing it more than everyone

i think that car would suit having its lip painted black with the fins inside the mouth painted black aswell... just imho of course

best of luck bud... it looks well sorted

    -ho

Was the 5Zigen too loud for you? I remember these cars dont sound too bad as standard tho.

Agreed the lip and fins painted black would look nice, a little photoshopping may be in order so I can get a better odea of what it will look like

And one more thing, the wheels are 19's not 18 as I said in my original post

  11. it looks left hand drive... ? and both the other cars you can see in the pics have non uk black and silver plates on.. ? + its also looks like an import, but its got 350z on it, insted of fairlady.

looks really nice tho, i'd swap that for my gunmetal one anyday.

Thanks and yep its in Malaysia as Sarnie has rightly pointed out :)

It is still a right hand drive, as they/we drive on the same side of the road here in Malaysia as in the UK.

MOst 350Z's here are from Japan. If you got one from the dealers here it would cost around 75k new, but a Japanese import can be had from about 28k -40k
