Aaaw, Zedrush, hehe, I've had some lovely summers in the UK & some very cold winters in Wiltshire, IOW & London. You'll all be putting those 350's on ships over to NZ soon. Hehe, they breed us cheeky in Kiwiland & it's even worse being part Pommie, that's why the cheekiness.

No brickyard and a crappy blue colour for MY07 The new orange is though!
That new SMB (san marino blue) is very close to the old 300zx dark blue. Although I'm glad to see they haven't carried through the blue interior as they did the 300zx, I think that would be a bit too copy cat from the old school Zeds.
Hehe, even in Winter we had a 20 degree day, so off the the beach we drove.
-
Wow you guys have clearly got lots more 350's in the UK than NZ does.
Look at all those 350's!! How could any newbie not feel a part of things.
-
Welcome and congratZ Mark on the Daytona Blue. Am I correct to presume it's an 07??
-
yeah, my handbrake is a bit dodgy as well
Pretty common issue. I think most of us in NZ have their handbrake tightened each service. Sigh.... Seems to be pretty common issue with 350's in US too. Oh to have the handbrake my Spec R-S15 had.

position of hazard and heated seat switches, always hitting them with my elbows
I've noticed the hazard light switch in the 07 has been moved to in front of the gear lever. But I know what you mean. Under elbow space isn't a good place to have switches.
I love the Zed apart from its lardy weight. If this car could be 200-250kg lighter then the relative performance increase would be amazing.Hehe, then you move to an 07 an it's heavier again. I guess what they call a "base" or "enthusiast" model in Japan/US is a better option for a light Z.
No permanent clock display and the paint, well, were all aware of that one.If you have the Bose head unit, you can program the time to display there, presuming the presets are the same in the UK.
Some of the things that drives me most nuts about the design of the older models like my 04 is the crazy wonky dipstick, impossible to get a decent reading off and to get back in. I'd also like to see the door, rest area a little less bulky for the reason being, if some lovely person parked a tad close, it's almost impossible to get back in, even doing gymnastics.
The useless handbrake.

So Chris, have you decided what your doing about replacing tyres? I can't remember your road laws in the UK. Are you required to have the same tyres with equal tread depth on an axle as you are in NZ??
Please, please for your sake don't mix tyres. As they others have said, which cause havoc, & if the very worst happened, insurance companies wil use anything as an out of paying up.
Have we all succeeded in putting you off mismatching your tyres yet? Lol.

Well in NZ a brand new 350 has always been about 74-76K NZ$, so it was usually late 20's through to more senior 350 driver in our clubs is 53, most of us have had our Z's since new. In the last 2 years with the influx of the 2002 & 2003, the youngest is 21.
USA brand new owners seems to be anything 16 years old, to the other end of the scale, which I believe is 70 years old. And a delightful chap he is and actually gets a bit of respect from the very young ones.
Oh, and I should qualify in NZ an average priced car is in the mid-late 30K range.
-
Are your 07 350's just arriving now??? If this pre-orders or available out of the showroom???
-
Hi guys, now I see you do a few things similar to us over in NZ. We have little business cards with all the club contact details etc. Do you guys send flyers/letters to the people that you get registration plates for, and how many of those people join the club????
-
Welcome Schrodinger, and your Z looks gorgeous with the Nismo wing.
Wow quite a few LMS (Le Mans Sunset) 350's in the UK!! I can't get over that, considering there weren't that many LMS's produced in comparison to other colours. It's about the 4th most rare colour after; Interlargos Fire, Brickyard, Ultra Yellow and then Le Mans Sunset.
-
Welcome Hawkeye. I personally recommend taking a few for a test drive. They're cool cars, and each ones has it's little quirks, like any car.
I've driven 16 x 350's thus far, different specs, and I'll still jump in the drivers seat if I have the chance to drive another one.

Hi Pooky, well when I saw the thread with so many views, knew it had to be you. Cheers Bronzee
Hi Bronzee yep it's a commun point on international forum thread of girl mak a lot of pages
Hehe, I'll stick to keep 'em guessing.
-
Haha, you guys crack me up. Thank you for the welcomes. Nice LMS's too, very very stunning!!
What does LMS stand for?LMS = Le Mans Sunset , colour
SO = Solar Orange
SMB = San Marino Blue
DB = Daytona Blue
UY = Ultra Yellow
MB = Magnetic Black
CB = Carbon Silver
you get the drift
Hehehe, I spend too much time looking at some of the big US forums, everything is acronyms in the US. At least I can use the Queens English on this forum and not be corrected with the American English.
Hiya Bronzee! Good to see ya pop in here!Helloooo Tere, the old net makes the world such a small place.
If any of you are over in New Zealand, let us know, there are always Zed events happening. We've already had a few English Zed visitors over here.
Check out our little forums:
http://www.zclub.net.nz (all of models Zeds)
http://www.300zx.net.nz (with 350 subforum)
No more sunny photos for you guys, you'll get too jealous of our weather. Still Winter here, today beautiful sunshine and 20 degrees.

I'm guessing that this might be something to do with having just had my Nismo rear spoiler fitted, but when I press the tailgate release button now it doesn't fully disengage.
Anybody had this problem and what or is there a remedy?
100% due to the extra weight mate.
Try the 2p trick (insert 2p coins at the bottom of the black springy things attached to the boot) that could help.
Also get rid of the extra weight bolted on the tailgate (access it by removing the plastic cover and you'll see it easily.
Lastly, get your delaler (if the car is under warranty) to mount uprated boot struts like I have done... Nismo spoiler is an official item
A few guys in the US have tried the penny trick, a few having put too many pennies in, and dented the hatch.

Whats a subframe insulator??
A sort of bush as such. A cushion between the subframe and the chassis.
-
Welcome, Bronzee!
I think you may be our first NZ member.
Your Zed's looking pretty sweet and shiney, although the background helps.
We do get the two new colours over here on the MY07 BTW.
Hehe, well there's a first time for everything, hehe or a first Kiwi for everything. Lol. Will be time for some very serious Summer shots soon too!! Yipee!!
Hmm, interesting you've got both the new colours, though like us you didn't get the Brickyard or the Interlargos Fire.
-
Awesome rmmackfc. What spec & year is your LMS??
-
1) How many of you have had trouble with your 350's Subframe Insulators??
2) Have you had the Rear Subframe and/or Insulators replaced??
3) Were the Insulators leaking??
4) Was there more than normal compliance/movement betwen subframe and chassis??
5) Was the toe out excessively quickly after an alignment every time??
6) Has the thrust angle changed dramatically every alignment??
If so please list:
A) year
manual or tiptronic
C) kms/miles
D) weather modded or not
E) any other pertinent information.
There are plenty of posts on other 350z forums which might suggest there might be others who've had similar problems with their 350z's.
Background to my delightfully mechanically challenged 2004, tiptronic, 350z.
After much battling, much expense on private assessments etc, finally had":
**driveshaft (excessively notcy, causing harmonic vibration)
**rear shocks (seized),
**fuel pump (was on way out due to vibration)
**CD head unit (vibration once again, causing CD player not to work)
**Left bank solenoid
replaced under warranty 27 October 2006, but you guessed it, it only took 2 weeks for the replaced driveshaft to get back to where the last one was when replaced, about a month for the CD head unit, and the fuel pump to start malfunctioning + more.
I love my Zed and very heavily involved with the Zed scene in NZ and globally, and I have absolutely no intention of selling it.
More light has come onto the situation, so I'm wondering if any of you have had the aforementioned problems with their 350z's??
-
Hi folks, just thought I'd check in and say hi. I've had my LMS 2004 350z since new, member over at Zclub.net too and lots of others.
Hehe, some nice sunny beachy photos of my Z, first one Dec 2005.
Haha, oh well the last one not so sunny, as in the middle to Winter and a yukky day.
So what colours come stock in the UK? Did you get Solar Orange and San Marino Blue with your 07's???
-
Hi Pooky, well when I saw the thread with so many views, knew it had to be you. Cheers Bronzee

Where abouts in the North Island does your business partner head to????
Hehe, I think he's pulling your leg. 50kms or sometimes 60kms in built up areas, and 100kms on the open road. Such a pity because we have some great scenic roads to drive on.
Otherwise only time you legally go nuts is in a closed road rally, that is very expensive to partake in or at the track or at the drag strip.
