  1. MUCH more than you mate.

31, 8yrs NCD, no points/convictions. Car is garaged at home and also at work. No mods.

    £1130

Its my horrid postcode that does it (I still fall into a Salford postcode which ranks pretty similar to Iraq). I asked what it would be to insure from my Mum & Dads out of interest and it came back at a far more reasonable £450

    :scare::scare::scare::scare:

Jesus thats v10 BMW M5 Money for me

  2. Its also your choice how often do you use the air con does it essentially need to be a few degrees cooler to make you happy  , IMO I would leave it alone and say to the stealer that youll live with it for now and use the £89 towards the service. Or say I can get it re-gassed for £40 down the road at another garage :p

  3. Right.....

Went in as I couldnt get anyone on the phone again  and explained that the car was exactly the same as before the new parts were fitted.

I asked to inspect my old parts and that the current parts are replaced as I still have the original fault. The clutch was worn beyond belief I mean it had started to take out the rivets there were no groves left or anything and the middle was completely blue and purple from heat :boxing:

Any way got the mechanic who fitted my bits and bobs to do a test drive and he said " Ooooo thats not right, must be a manufacturing fault on this ":angry:

The Nissan dealer promptly ordered replacement parts and said it would all be done asap, meanwhile im ok to drive the nifty around. :yahoo: anythings better than a micra.

I then rang Nissan Warranty people and shouted and said how unacceptable this was as how do we not know the clutch fitted to my nifty was not faulty when installed causing premature wear :scare: They said that they needed the dealer to explain that the cause of the failure was from a defect and not from diver abuse ( please bear in mind my car has done 16K with one previous lady owner and its still on it original tyres )

The dealer said we did state exactly that and that the warranty people are just trying to get out of paying.

The dealer is going to chase for me so ill keep you all updated when I know more.

  4. Mine has had a slight judder when pulling off in first from day one. The dealer has driven it and recons all zeds do this. He has also said though that excessive judder is down to a faulty damping effect on the dual mass flywheel.

    Jimbo,

Mine does it too.............but it shouldn't happen. My local dealer said If I wanted it investigated further, I would have to pay for a new clutch if they looked at it and if the gearbox was thought to be faulty, I would have to pay for a replacement up front and they would then approach Nissan for a refund under warranty but could not confirm they would cough up. I will do the job myself when it gets that bad and put a half decent clutch (Sach's) in, thrust bearing (which if you ask me is half of the problem) and pressure plate in.

Best of luck with it. Feel for you.

What should I do then should I go back winging now or wait to see if they can get me some cash back first?

You could try getting a second opinion from another dealer. Alternatively, you need to make a bit of a nuisance of yourself and see what happens.

 On it, one angry Jimbo and flying toys comming from my pram in all directions. :boxing:

  6. Right then just been and got the car and low and behold it still has clutch judder, is this a normal thing with 350z`s :surrender:

The gear crunching has gone away huzzzzah and they have fixed my alarm although they say the phone kit is ok and its a problem with my phone, I say B0lloCK5 :boxing: My phone works fine with my nokia kit in my misses car.

The guy at Nissan said he is going to try and get some cash back for me via the warranty people but going to have to wait and see

  7. Jimbo is

Just got a phone call about the car, Nissan will not replace the clutch under warranty as it is slightly worn with no defects apart from that ( aparently ). The dealer has said that I should contest this with Nissan GB because the car has only covered 16,000 miles in its life the clutch should have lasted alot longer. They reckon I should be able to get some costings back.

Its going to cost me £890.24 for the clutch and flywheel to be fitted am really pi55ed off.

I will ring Nissan GB this afternoon and see what they have to say, Trading standards are currently on standby to assist

  8. Not the point Tim though is it - they said they would have it back by 3pm and have left Jimbo hanging without telling him what's going on. Sure they probably screwed up on the estimation

 My point exactly, would only have taken a phone call to say "sorry mister Jimbo your car wont be ready today we will try and get it finished tomorrow"and I wouldnt be moaning about them

  9. Not good enough, not by a long chalk

    Name and shame :boxing:

Evans and Halshaw Bedford, cutomer service sucks I was warned about them by a friend who tried to buy a new micra convertible from them and was left standing in the showroom for 20mins with no help.

She bought from Marshalls in Cambridge in the end and she said they couldnt have been more helpfull.

  10. Took my car in for some warranty work today was told I should have it back by 3pm latest ( I dropped it off at 07:30 )

    Parts to be sorted are

    1. New Clutch, Clutchplate and Flywheel

    2. Hands Free Kit Sorted ( It doesnt work at all )

    3. Alarm constantly goes off for no reason

    4. Crunching gears between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd ( Suspect caused by clutch )

    5. Sidelight out MOT due next month so need it done

All bar sidelight being done under warranty

I rang at 3:15PM and was told that the service desk is busy, I the rang at 4PM and the guy said he would go check on the progress and call me back, he didnt. I rang at 5:30PM and was told that the service desk was busy again.:angry:

Meanwhile im stuck with a bogo Micra sat on the drive looking like a deformed kind of bubble, even my neighbours have asked if id changed the 350z for it

anyone else had problems with dealer customer service :surrender:
