  1. As it was mapped at RS Tuning, is it the UpRev tune? Also from the dates I take it the tune and bhp was before the high flow cats?

Have been out of the Z scene for about 3-4 years (had a charged Z back then), how many hours is a typical clutch install?

Also looks like a mark on the rear bumper in the photo, is that a scratch or dirt?

  2. Hi guys

As i prepare my Z for sale, the to be owner has enquired about me leaving the sub in the car (Infinity Basslink) and wiring it into the standard Head Unit.

I currently have it wired up to my Alpine HU, using the Sub RCAs and the Alpine, remote switch (blue) wire to turn it on and off with the HU. I am pretty sure the standard Nissan unit doesn't have any RCA pre-outs, but are any of those wires a pre-out in disguise?

If not then I am assuming I would have to wire the sub in parallel to the rear speakers (Basslink has the option to connect via low level pre-outs or speaker level) and then find the correct "switch" wire on the back of the Nissan unit. So my questions:

Which wire is the remote turn on wire on the standard Nissan unit / wiring loom?

Are there any pre-outs hiding on the back of the standard unit?

If no pre-outs, is the best option to wire in parallel to the rear speakers?

    Thanks

    Rob

  3. I will be removing this from my car this weekend, it is set up for a 350Z - Alpine Head Unit but (from memory) it can be used for a host of other cars and stereos to enable aftermarket stereo control from your steering wheel buttons (if you have them!).

Was imported from the states earlier this year, been in the car a few months, cost about $70 inc. shipping and another £10 in taxes, so roughly £40 new I think.

    Any offers?

  4. It fitted in the enclosure behind the drivers seat, where the Bose sub is on the GT cars.

You can fit it in on its side, raising it off the floor using the supplied feet. Not easy but it fits, and sounds great. With the Bose grill on top you get some good bass! Easy to remove the grill and get to the controls on the sub too as I didn't install the link control bit.

  5. Having sold my car there are various parts which were not included in the agreed sale, one of which was the stereo, the agreement being to return the stero system back to standard spec.

So, I will be removing the Infinity Bass Link unit that I put in only a few weeks ago and also replacing the Bose bass speaker panel with the standard panel.

The basslink unit is about £100 new on eBay and comes with the wiring I used to wire it to a 350Z, via RCAs to the head unit (to an aftermarket head unit). It fits (on its side) in the enclosure behind the drivers seat and makes a huge difference in non-bose cars.

Specs from Infinity Specs from Infinity here

To finish it off I ordered a Bose panel from courtesy parts in the US, which only costs about £20, but was closer to £50 when you include the shipping! It is the charcoal colour and is a direct replacement for the stock part in the non-bose car.

I am offering the pair together for £90, you must be able to collect or live locally enough that we can work out a place to meet as this is too heavy to ship!

  6. Why runflats and why only 2????

I got a good deal on them, was buying new rears and had planned to buy two fronts from a different dealer (the fronts were cheaper from another outlet, the rears cheaper where I got them). Then decided to stick with the Toyos, so didn't buy the front Goodyears, would have bought them when I was replacing the tyres.

Got runflats as I damaged a rim on my old car with a blown tyre, didn't want to damage my nice new 19" nismos!

I didn't know you're able to get them in run flat... Interesting.

You can! Check out MyTyres, go for this size and you'll find them at £266 each!

  7. I have two brand new (still stickered) Goodyear Eagle F1 Run Flats. They are 285/35/19 (I am 99% sure - will check this evening).

I bought these when I was buying my new Nismos as I was originally looking at selling the Volks with tyres, but decided to sell the rims only and transferred the Toyos over to the Nismos. So these were left over, was keeping them to replace te Toyos when required, but as I am selling my car I won't need these!

With the standard rear tyre size being 245/45/18 these tyres will increase your rolling road radius by a mere 0.65 % (a 275/35/19 decreases the rolling road radius by 0.38%). These tyres are over £250 each (£266 on mytyres inc. delivery), will sell individually ONLY if I have a buyer for both tyres!

Looking for £350 for the pair, make me an offer.

Buyer must be able to collect, tyres are currently in SW11, in a few weeks they will be with me in Essex when I sell my house in SW11, unless bought and collected before then (which is preferable!!)

  8. OK - Car is definitely now for sale, tough decision to make as she is a delight to drive, but while the sensible side of me is winning the argument someone will have the opportunity to buy a well looked after Z.

I will post a proper advert later on with a price, once I have worked out how much I could get breaking the car back to stock, how much I have spent etc. etc.

Until then, any offers by PM, thanks.
