  1. Car was in the garage today to have the sensors looked at. They said they had been disconnected because as soon as they reconnected them, there was a constant beep when reverse was selected. They tried the reset instructions, but that didn't make any difference. They reckon that the paint on the sensor has confused the sensors and I need a replacement set. Now, looking at the 'Z' brochure, if, for that sake of argument, the sensor is 2p sized, the inner 1p sized centre section appears to be a clear or white mesh - on my car, this is gunmetal like the outer part of the sensor. Does this sound right. I wonder if the owner has just applied some paint to the sensor to match it, or, the bumper has been scratched and repainted. I'll be calling the salesman in the morning to ask him to give the previous owner a call.
  2. I wish - its the lower lights mounted in the bumper. I dont tink they changed. They are attending to this, my non-working parking sensors and giving me a new set of wipers (I complained that they were worn out). The salesman will talk to the sales manager about the stone chips and the tyres .
  3. Booked in to get looked at. Thanks.
  4. No beep I'm afraid. Back to the dealer for a check by the looks of it.
  5. Stupid question - do Nissan fit the sensors on the back bumper even though the system isn't installed. Mine are completely silent (I've done a search and realise that they can be silent until 20 cm away).
  6. Last Monday I took delivery of a 22 month old 350Z with 14200 on the clock. It was purchased from a Nissan garage in Stirling but not on the approved used scheme (Arnold Clark does not appear to be part of that scheme) They replaced the rear tyres before the car went on sale and I misread Roadstone as Bridgestone (stupid I know but it was a dark Scottish afternoon when I saw the car). I've never heard of them and a search reveals that they make 4x4 and budget high performance tyres. They grip seems ok on the greasy roads we have at the moment, but then again I'm taking it easy. I would obviously prefer a premium brand as this aint no Micra - I wonder if Nissan UK have recommendations (certainly on my previous S2000, Honda recommend only one). Anyone know? I mentioned the stone chips on the front bumper and they have tried to touch them up, but I could have done a better job myself. I knew the 350 was famous for them - the bumper has quite a few, but there are a four on the bonnet that only became really obvious when the sun came out today. Buyer beware and all that, but I would like them to get their chipsaway guy to sort them. One of the rear light lenses has become fogged - not through codensation, but through lamination of the plastic by the looks of. This should be replaced in my opinion. Other that the above, the car is fantastic. Just the usual Nissan dealer performance probably? What do you think?
  7. Pick it up Monday... http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5053#65053
  8. Decided to buy it. First impression - its a heavy beast, but punches its weight beautifully. It was pissing down on the drive, but the stability control kept it all in check nicely. Traction was pretty impressive, even on cold tyres. The brakes were as powerful as I expected. The engine could have beena bit more vocal, but sailing along on a wave of torque was both fun and a lot more relaxing than the frenetic nature of my S2000. The gearchange was better than I expected, even when cold. Doing the deal was pretty painless, They had just taken £1000 off last week and refused to budge on price (£21888 for a March '05 with 14200 miles, Gunmetal, door kick plates, parking sensors and 2 new rear tyres not Bridgestone though, a make I'm not familiar with but OK according to Nissan - I may change them). I managed to negotiate a service before delivery, a 2 year service plan and a tonneau cover. I think I did OK as a Glass's online valuation came in at £23500 retail. I cant wait... PS: the tips I found on here were very useful - no clicking drive shafts, skipping CD, squeaky seats, non dropping windows etc etc.
  9. I had to sell my S2000 last year for medical reasons and I've just had my license returned from the DVLA. I've pretty much decided the 350Z is for me. The problem is that they are hard to find in Scotland and I've never driven one. I've found one at a reasonable price (£22K for a 05 plate GT on standard alloys from a Nissan dealer) and I'm arranging a test drive tomorrow. Any pointers from ex-S2000 owners, or any general test driving tips much appreciated.
