Hi was wondering if anyone could help. I have had my jap import sat nav converted. I was told that all the work for the new kenwood sat nav which is connected to the original screen was done in the boot - I mean, the BOSE head unit was not touched. I have also had digital TV installed (also in the boot) and a dvd player which sits behind the head rest.
Now...the sat nav comes on automatically when the car starts. If you want the tv, you have to use the remote to turn it on (there are 3 remote infra red sensors which have been thread through the roof and sit in the top right hand corner of the winscreen - 1 for the sat nav, 1 for the tv and 1 for the dvd player). The TV works only when switched on using the remote, but you also have to press the tv button on the buttons near the screen (the plate?). When this happens, the Bose stereo is 'by-passed' and the 'AUX' sign comes up on the unit, and you can hear the tv through the speakers.
All was perfect, until the Bose head unit started playing up. It got to a stage where I couldn't take it anymore, could barely hear a full track, decided to take the bose system out.
I had bought a pac-oem to connect the wires to an aftermarket stereo, but the old head unit has 4 iso inputs, 2 large ones and 2 small ones. The new pac-oem has only the 2 larger ones - so the other 2 smaller ones are left out?
I am assuming that the 2 smaller iso connectors have something to do with why there is now no sound when the tv is switched on? and if that is the case is there a special wire (like the pac oem) which connects these 2 small iso connectors to the radio via aux in ? maybe? i'm just guessing
Also, the screen dims when I turn the ignition back on. In this case, I tried disconnecting the face plate (with the buttons near the screen) and connect it back up which the screen then comes on back to normal. weird!
Any help please thanks much appreciated!!
