Regarding the type grease, I just went with the same copper based stuff I used on the back of my brake pads.
As for doing a DIY post, there is not much more I can add to the TSB, I pretty much just followed that step by step. You may find it useful to have a rubber mallet or similar around in order to persuade the drive shaft to come out of the hub.
For a bit of backgroung info, before finding the TSB I went to West Way Nissan in Coventry, who, after driving my car around the car park for 30 seconds, informed me that I required both CV joints and bearings replacing at the minor cost of £688 - It really does appear Nissan in the UK do not have a clue!
