well kinda just a quick verbal update on the exhaust.the volume on it is slowly starting to creep up. its about the same volume as the 5zigen I had on my car for 2 months. the gurgle has gotten a lot louder on over run and it is very well behaved at motorway. very happy wit it atm.
ok what I'm about o say may cause controversy. the car feels noticeably sharper. about 10-15 HP sharper.im physically using less throttle to do the same job. its not as if I've not had a aftermarket exhaust on aswell so I can't explain it. also my brother mentioned it without me saying anything. so its definately not just in my own head.
now I know everyone is gonna say the ecu will minus everything out but does this happen with the 07+ ecu's. I suppose the only way to know is to get it on the rollers.

extra power feel down to the colder damp weather.
granted I would have thought that but I noticed the difference almost immediately after you guys fitted it.also the weather hasn't been as bad as normal just wet and it still feels sharper.
The design and flow of the system is the best we have seen so maybe it does have an effect.
You know the car best and have had a couple of other options to judge by

I think I must have seriously upset someone recently, as karma is gettins its own back this week!
Just been pulled over by the local county car.
Pulled into a near carpark, and got out the car. Copper did a check on my car over the radio, then turned to me.
Conversation goes like this
"Whats the speed limit on that road?"
"40"
"and what where you doing?"
"45"
"No, I'll tell you what you were doing. You were doing 55" (this isnt possible as I had already spotted him in the petrol station and was only at 45mph as I'd had to accelerate off the roundabout to get outta the way of someone pulling out on me)
"theres only one person in this town allowed to speed son. And that is me" (Im not kidding, those where his words!)
"the reason you came to my attention is the sound of your car. Its sounds like a Tornado jet taking off. And I was in the RAF and I should know. A tornado is loud, but that is louder. (you cant make this @*!# up)
And I can pull you for anything. I'll pull you for havin ga loud stereo, or a loud exhaust."
Im of course just nodding in agreement.
He then goes on to tell me that the courts love him and hate me. And to keep it down and sort out the volume of my car!
I mean! WTF!!
Did he just fancy pulling me, and tell me any old sh!t?
Where can I go to get the volume of my car checked and recorded so that next time I get pulled by him (he'll be looking for me now), I can produce a certifcate showing the volume.
What is the max volume btw?
Im off to wrap myself in cotton wool for the rest of the week.

Mark is picking car up on saturday as planned.
kit came without the fixings for the fuel flap so thats all that cant be fitted, five minute job when they arrive.
-
Yeah the Stig on top gear said that people got better times in the reasonably price car on colder days.
I knew there was some benifit to living in England
and why northern Z's are faster than southern ones
-
Ok im no techie but isnt it due to the air density.
Colder air = denser air = more oxygen
Am i right??
-
Well that was successful - NOT!
Post on DW has basically resulted in me being flamed for Airing on a Public Forum, as his work is always so good, blah blah blah.
Where else are you meant to air your opinions??
+1.
Reading on DW it seems he has "reasons" for why it wasnt up to par, so I think he needs to explain these to you (maybe family problems or whatever) and come back and sort it properly. I'm fair if someone gives reasons for mistakes, but from what you posted on here, he didnt seem to care.
I was given absolutaly no reasons as to why the job was so half arsed done.
Im half tempted to post the email exchange between me and him - however I know that would be going too far.
Whatever he says you have first hand witnesses.
-
Im actually just about to go post up on DW now.
Despite me informing him of this, he really doesnt seem to care and has threatened me with court proceedings if I refuse to pay. Muppet.
With regards to the blue paint. This was removed, and was the only part of his service I was actually happy with.
My thanks go to Phil for looking after my car and keeping an eye on the detailer, as god alone knows how bad the job would have been otherwise.
Im still rather furious with all this. He even had the nerve to offer only £15 off the total quote, as the bits he has missed will only take him 30 mins to correct.
THEY SHOULDNT NEED CORRECTING IN THE FIRST PLACE!
(sorry for shouting)
Take the court option Alex you have three witnesses here to verify what was done and we would have no hesitation in defending you.

He certainly wasn't rushed, the car was in very good condition to start with as Alex does look after it, hardly any swirls in the paint.
The big problem was lack of attention to detail, the list of work Alex asked for from the guys own menu was mostly ignored.
After spending almost two hours washing the car the wheels, arches, underside of sills were not touched at all. The dirt in the arches and on the wheels was hidden by using a self gloss spray.
Alex's girlfriend ran her hand over one part of the arch and her hand was covered in muck.
The boot was never lifted to clean and dry the shuts, same with door shuts, these were not even washed just wiped with a rag.
I have never seen such a small amount of wax applied to a car with only the exposed flat surfaces treated, none of the areas such as underside of the spoiler, door shuts, sills etc got anything at all.
Cleaning of the interior consisted of a spray of the seats with an armoural type product to make them shiny, no cleaning and certainly no feed applied to the leather, carpets hoovered without moving the seats, no glass cleaned no plastics to the dash or door panels even wiped.
Arrived late on both days and left early, didn't even put a full day in, and still went off for lunch.
I was shocked to say the least.
Thanks for that Phil, certainly does shed a lot of light on what went on. It is truely shocking how half assed that detail was. I was my mums old beater better than that! It sounds more like a job your local car park car was people would do!
Did he machine polish any of it?
I'd say get on DW and name and shame on there, what he did was truely shocking for the money that you have paid, and I would have expected more from even a novice detailer
Yes the car was machined and he did a fair job of that but as I said it really didn't need much in that respect, he himself said the paint was in good nick.
The big dissapointment on the bodywork was the the lack of in your face shine, certainly with the GTR sitting behind it (which has not had a polish yet) the shine difference was significant.

Your car should be sparkling. Might be worth popping over to Detailing World and see if anyone there know of the dealer / has had similar problems
Definately enquire at Detailing World. I'm sure they are on there.
How did he get on with the blue paint removal? This is the most important bit.
What did you pay for exactly? What does a full detail consist of? Full correction and protection?
Does seem like they have been rushed and not done a full job. Quite shocking as most of the guys on DW are very proud of their work and are pretty anal when it comes to getting things right

£185

-
congrats on the new motor!
What front bumper is that by the way?
Standard bumper slightly modified.
-
We can sell you some bits for it if you are interested
-
Not wanting to take the bread from Phil's mouth but they are a piece of cake to fit yourself.
I wouldn't argue with that.
-
I have done some searches...but can't find the answer to my question...
If I wanted to get the spacers in, ala Bigphil @ £185. Do I have to buy some additional springs as well? Or are the stock ones being used??
Is that £185 inc labour of fitting it?
Cheers
springs only required if you want to lower the car.
Price for spacers does not include fitting.
£30 for fitting.

everything going to plan at the moment

Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to pop over on sunday it was good to see you all.
Had a good fun couple of days topped off with a 'Brucie Bonus' of three points on the way home could have been worse if the brakes weren't so good.
