in short my z has this common problem of the gears crunching between 4th and 6th. took it in to a stealer, they couldn't find the fault. complained to NMGB who logged in on their system as it was about a week before the end of my warranty. took it in to another stealer that found the fault 2 days after the warranty ended. They spoke to the warranty dept who said they would only pay 50% because the fault wasn't confirmed within the warranty period. hence lots of arguing and letters from me and no change in the outcome from them. just got a quote from my local stealer to do the work of about £1500. they do however claim they've never fixed a z gearbox and reckon they're prob gonna have to change all the shift rings at the same time because that's what the manual says. total cost for that is about £3300. sorry for waffling but am i being legged over here and should i get a quote from a different dealer? or is this all correct? any help gratefully received!

prob gonna sell it in about a year. buyers tend to prefer a full nissan service history. dunno y, every nissan employee i've met round my way seems to be a total numpty. go figure!

Just so i'm not getting legged over by my dealership can somebody giv me a bit of help. my z is due its 3 year service (just out of warranty), it it true it needs a p3 service? i was quoted £360 by my local dealer, is this about the right price? they might be stupid questions but after a few recent experiences i really don't trust them!

ta for all ur help on this. i've just pinged off my email to them and i gace them a call to make sure they're having a look at it. they said they'd give me a call by tomorow afternoon. fingers crossed then

thanks for that. i tried calling them and complaining but the service manager at my local dealership (waltham abbbey) has always been very unhelpful. i did offer to take them out in it but it was near to closing time when i collected it and i was going on my hols the next day. i might try and arrange that. yeah it's under warranty but only til then end of the month. this is why i think they're being so unhelpful

my gearbox has recently developed a crunching noise when changing from 4th to 6th gear. i took it in to nissan Waltham Abbey and they later on rang me to tell me they couldn't get it to make that noise. wheni went to collect the car later i told them it always makes the noise for me. they claim to have sent out 2 people in it and they couldn't find any noise. i said that it always does it between 4th and 6th. the manager said 'well u shouldn't change between 4th and sixth. the gearbox isn't meant to change straight between those gears' please somebody tell me that this is a load of crap before i type my complaint letter to his boss

i need to get a new front bumper and get it sprayed. do i have to order the bumper from nissan or can i get it anywhere. does anybody know any good bodyshops/spayers in the essex area?

what not including the tyres i don't really wanna spend more than £2500. is that realistic?

all of these are in need of a change soon. the tyres i'm finding it hard to choose between the toyo's and Michelins. i have no idea about the others though. i was just wondering what people recomend?

sorry if this has been posted before. i'm getting my 350z on friday and was wondering if anybody knew of a company that could fit a denison in car ipod player for me. i've rung a couple of places and they say that they can't fit it to this model ????
