As I had the phone manual printed out (but never needed) from before, I sent an e-mail to thechameleongroup who are notified agents for THB in the UK.

 

I asked

 

The above (UNI VoiceTak DSP) kit has been fitted to a Nissan 350Z – but it speaks in German. Could you possibly advise me how to change the language to English, it is not covered in the Operating Manual.

I have spoken to THB on your behalf and I am afraid there is no setting to change the language of the Uni voice talk. They make two versions one with English & one with German, you would need to change the whole junction box to an English one to sort that problem.

 

If it was purchased brand new I would be contacting your supplier!

Thanks Dorian, much appreciated . I bought the car 4 months old - it was an ex demo from a reasonably local Nissan dealership. The unit was already installed, tbh I didn't know the problem existed until I bought the bluetooth adaptor as I hadn't tried using it with a cradle. I've just been very very lazy in contacting the garage, the thought of driving around 20 miles in a Micra isn't doing anything for my motivation to sort it out either

Yep he's having a laugh mate but I wouldn't be surprised if the price is right. Main dealers for you. The only reason I'm using a main dealer is cos I'm under warranty, my brakes certainly won't be getting done by them thats for sure

we' can do a test on Sunday Andy by swapping adpaters with mine. This way it will prove if it's the adapter or the main control unit burried in the car.

Nice motors. Not quite in the same league but I have to drive past my neighbours houses every morning, next door has a 911 Carrera and a Cayenne Turbo ( dodge pot, never leaves the house, dunno what he does but I'm sure he's dodgy ), next door to him has a Gallardo and Landcruiser ( owns a company called Law Line, does PI claims and stuff, no win no fee type of thing - this guy just turned 30 ! ), and next to him has a Bentley Continental and Bentley Azure aswell as a 700bhp Supra ( owns a chain of carpet shops ) !

And there's poor old me in my 350z, the poor relation...

On the bright side my car is paid for
