  1. I know the info is in here somewhere but there are 48 pages on this thread so....where are people staying on the Saturday night? I'm London based, so having previously thought I'd drive up and back in a day realistically that's not going to happen and I now plan to drive up Saturday evening aiming to arrive around 9 (all of which assumes I have a car by then!)

    Will,

    Read this mate!

  2. actually I would have wanted different bell colours, but Project Mu only makes their stuff in that green

the stuff is absolutely amazing though, a lot of the italian 350z club members have it, and we are talking about Ring fanatics... one guy managed to get his brembo calipers colour fade, he got them so hot! :teeth:

Ah ok, I thought it was a sort of "off blue" but I think I know the green colour you mean!

Don't think I need any yet.... but if I did!

  3. for a sensible price, may I add.

I got my Toyos for the WORKs from Andy, and went to my local Kwik-Fit who mounted my original tyres to the brand new alloys about 2 years ago.

Today they refused to do it (I didn't buy the tyres from them in either occasion! ) quoting Company policy.

Same for a National Tyres garage I'd used before and where I got my Milltek fitted.

    Same story at another Kwik-fit....

went to an ATS garage and they said they'd do it.... FOR £50! when I told him no way, the guy had the cheek to say "you want them balanced, right?" WTF? going to take no longer than what, 15-20 minutes for both tyres? Since when a tyre fitter is paid £150/hr??? madness!

I'm sure I paid about £35 for 4 tyres mounted and fitted at the Kwik-fit I used the first time!

It's not even a case of putting them on the car, as I'm going to do it myself, the tyres and alloys are in the Yaris ready to be mounted!

Found another place who wants £20 per tyre, they'll be open on Saturday...

Is it me or this is still quite expensive???

    Suggestions welcome

Mmmm I remember having this issue when I was looking at wheels in the past. I think its normally around £15 per wheel now..... well it was for the one I found. As I was struggling to find anywhere that did 19"....

  4. Finally got the spare cash to have my seats re-trimmed after first visiting an upholsterer over 2 years ago. Looking for some ideas, was going to go with full red leather but the wife aint too keen. I have to be a little careful or she may decide the cash isn`t spare anymore ;)

Ideas please alcantera, leather, colour combo`s??

Nah, I wouldn't go full red leather in a your Chili.

I'd do somthing like black/grey alcantara centres with perforated leather on outsides of seats. Maybe with some red piping or stiching to match....

And go to Precision Trimming in Holmfirth. Their work rocks....

    http://www.precisiontrimming.co.uk/

Tim had his done their recently and they look ace!

  5. Just saw the pictures, that looks totally awesome, I love the bonnet. Did you re-paint the wheels yourself or are they just another Nissan option that I missed somewhere?

No its not an option. They are standard original Nissan wheels.

Val told me that one day he was finishing his latest Airfix kit (I think he said it was a stealth bomber, or maybe the titanic or something) and he had lots of black paint left.....

So he gave em a go and look at what he did ! :teeth::D

  6. Yep, can't recommend this place enough (so far).

I've just had my boot struts replaced. Rang them, booked in..... got there and had already ordered the parts ready. replaced without a question.....

Started process about my Rays bubbling now. Pictures taken and uploaded to Nissan etc now....... just waiting on first load of fob offs from Nissan themselves now...

But dealer has been ace, and ended up being the cheapest for servicing etc

And I never stop banging on about this place when I go, so Dave's probably sick of it! :D

  7. Man that's bad. Anyone can reduce lift by designing an aero package like that. It's like F1 aero packages from years ago when they were first experimenting with it.

Also, ride height looks way too high.

    Guy

    Yeah completely agree!

My standard one that I used to have looked so much better. That one looks like a Pram on stilts! :yuck:

  8. Dear all,

Just to let you know that in the next day or so I'm going to be sending out PMs to all parties with confirmations about some of the details and asking for some pertinent infomation.

Can I just ask that you respond as quickly as you can to the PMs so that I can collate the information asap and pass on where neccessary.

Not to worry anyone, its only going to be around mobile numbers (in case of delays, missing people etc) and assistance in helping out the pub with meals etc. If you think I already have your mobile number (which I do a lot of) then I'd please like you to confirm in case any have changed/been updated etc)

Anyone that went last time will understand that due to numbers, it was a hell of a lot easier just to bypass the menu and go for carvery, so as much as possible I'd like to do the same. Its a lot better for all parties if we just say we're going to have x number of carverys etc. especially in helping out the kitchen due to the massive amount of numbers thats going to hit them!

I realise that will not be applicable to all, as will have some vegetarians etc so there will be other choices of the menu. Food has always been great here, so don't worry that you'll not find anything, just that it might take a little longer!

Anyway, don't respond here please. Await the PM or PM me directly if you know now that you happy just to take the carvery etc......

Anyone that's wondering, it was the usual 3x choices of meat and lots of spuds/veg etc.....

    Was bloody lovely! :thumbs::D

  9. Jacko - Here's a shot where you can just see the wheels I was referring to. I recall seeing a website that listed all the wheel type for the 350z and these were the latest variation. I seem to think they were the Track V2 style???

Anyway, check 'em out here: http://www.ultimatez.com/shop/index.php?shop=1&cat=113

Like the GT4 but with detailing on them - sweet

Yeah if I remember rightly, they are what the yanks got this year for standard?

  10. Jacko - how would we find out for sure about the GT4 wheels becoming standard on the new model?

I too have a GT4 and would be a little disappointed for the "Special Edition" to become a "not-so-special-anymore Edition"

However, I spent 5 yrs in LA and saw plenty of 350z's there. Some of which had the GT4 wheels so I'm clinging onto the hope that they won't be standard over here.

The nicest wheels I've seen are the later Standard 19" Nissan wheels that are 5 spoke like the GT4's but with the 350z style squares cut into the spokes. I've forgotten where I saw them, and their name though:blush:

Dunno to be honest Jonathan. Until get confirmed spec of the UK car then its going to be wait and see.......I'll let you know if I find anything as on the look out for detailed and confirmed info about uk car.

As for the other wheels you like, do you mean the wheels that are on the pig ugly back ended Nismo car that I posted the other day? They were quite nice.... ;)

  11. But those are JDM pics. I don't think they will bring them over here. :)

Yeah keep grasping those straws Sarnie!

Order a new box as well. Be here quicker than your new wheels! :p:boxing:

  12. @Jacko: Are you sure about the GT4 rims being standard on the new zed, as thats new to me. I was going to keep them to return the car to standard but not point if every zed is gonna have them when I sell up

Well every picture I have seen so far, including the reviews in Evo, this web page and others show your big heavy wheels :p

    http://www.leftlanenews.com/2007-nissan-350z.html

You might as well keep them for winter work though, rather than whatever you buying?
